The forests and mines of Sulcis by e-bike

Day 1: Pula
Transfer or individual arrival at a cozy farmhouse in the green near Pula.

Day 2: Pula (61 km; +890 m)
Today we will get to know the landscape that will accompany us for most of the week: the Mediterranean forest formed by holm oaks and cork trees. A thrilling and challenging descent will take us to Chia, one of the most beautiful beaches in southern Sardinia. We return to Pula along the ancient Roman road that connected the coastal settlements of Nora and Bithia and that offers breathtaking views.

Day 3: Pula – Nuxis (67 km; +1280 m)
A tough ride awaits us along the bends of Piscina Manna that take us up to 700 meters above sea level, but the subsequent descent will repay us for the effort made. We then pay a visit to the Santadi social winery where the famous Terre Brune is produced and finally arrive in Nuxis where we stop for the night.

Day 4: Nuxis – Domusnovas (48 km; +1180 m)
Today we will enter the mining area passing through the sites of Rosas and Orbai. After a pleasant picnic immersed in a landscape of century-old olive trees, we delve into the belly of the earth to discover the wonders of the San Giovanni cave. Later, we venture into the spectacular Marganai forest, where we reach the elegant farmhouse that will host us this night.

Day 5: Domunovas – Fighezia (52 km; +850 m)
We cross the Tinny forest to reach the Arenas mining site. We will then visit the Roman temple of Antas, which for centuries has remained hidden in a remote valley. A splendid descent to Buggerru brings us back to the sea up to the enchanting beach of Portixeddu.

Day 6: Fighezia – Montevecchio (56 km; +1300 m)
Today we stay almost always along the coast until we reach the remote beach of Scivu. The old mining villages of Ingurtosu and Montevecchio will take us back in time reminding us of how important mining activity was in this area of Sardinia.

Day 7: Green Coast (38 km; +920 m)
After crossing the center of Montevecchio, we enjoy the fantastic single track along the Rio Irvi, which we will have to cross no less than 18 times before arriving in one of the most fascinating areas of the island: the Piscinas beach with its dunes up to 50 meters high, the highest in Europe. The afternoon climb will be our goodbye to Sardinia while the unmistakable profile of Monte Arcuentu will be our reference for our return to the farmhouse.

Day 8: Montevecchio
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure.
