Description

Day 1: Athens
Your cycling holiday in the Saronic Islands begins in Athens. After check-in at the hotel, you can choose to take advantage of a guided bike tour of the city (to be booked and paid for in advance), departing at 6.00 pm from the center of Athens and lasting about 3 hours. In this first evening, you will also receive an envelope with the ferry schedules and vouchers, which you will have to exchange for tickets at the departure ports.

Day 2: Poros Island (15 km)
Private transfer to the Piraeus Port, where your bicycles will normally be delivered. If you travel by hydrofoil or fast ferry, you will find the bikes directly in Poros. Depending on the time of arrival on the island, you may take a bike ride. There is a short itinerary that runs along the Zoodochou Pigis Monastery and two circular tours, combinable with each other, one for the beach and the other for the small town of Poros. All three itineraries can also be followed the next day.

Day 3: Bike tour on Poros Island (17 km)
In this first stage of your journey through the Saronic Islands by bicycle, you will explore the western and central part of Poros. You will first pedal along the coast, where you will have the chance to visit an old-Russian navy base, then you will climb towards a plateau through a beautiful wooded area, to reach one of the few cultivable areas of the island. Once at the top, you can take a circular tour to visit the beautiful archaeological site of the Temple of Poseidon. A steep descent will then take you back to Poros.

Day 4: Poros - Psifta - Poros (31 km)
After breakfast, you will embark, along with your bicycles, on the pontoon to Galatas (to be paid locally). From here you will start a nice bike ride through an agricultural area. You will climb up to the typical town of Taktikoupoli and then quickly descend to the coast, where you will encounter the wetland area of Psifta, a protected area. The last stretch of the itinerary will take you back to Galatas, from where you will embark again for Poros.

Day 5: Poros Island – Egina Island
Depending on the departure time of your ferry, you can take the opportunity to take a final walk or bicycle ride on the island of Poros. Your bike journey through the Saronic Islands continues today towards the island of Egina. Once there, take advantage of it to explore the beautiful town of Egina, or to go swimming in the island's crystal clear waters.

Day 6: Bike and Sea on the Egina Island (20 km)
Today you can choose whether to explore the city of Egina, with its archaeological sites and museums, or take a 10 km bike tour along the coast to the picturesque village of Perdika. In the summer season, you can also reach the uninhabited island of Moni by fishing boat and stop here to sunbathe. Alternatively, if you prefer walking, you can explore the ancient olive grove or reach the top of Mount Ellanios (532 m.a.s.l).

Day 7: Loop tour on Egina Island (50 km)
Your bike journey through the Saronic Islands includes a second stop on Egina Island. The itinerary will take you inland to the Monastery of Agios Nektarios, a pilgrimage destination for many Greek Orthodox believers. You will then descend to the coast and then climb up to the Temple of Aphaia (165 m.a.s.l.), and finally back to the coast to the beach resort of Agia Marina. From here, you will proceed to Portes and the small village of Anitseo. In addition to a large tavern, here you will find a beautiful Byzantine church built on and with the materials of an ancient temple dedicated to Zeus. The itinerary ends with a return to Egina city.

Day 8: Piraeus
Return by ferry to Piraeus, return the bicycles and delivery of the luggage.
From here you will find regular connections by public transport and Athens airport, also reachable by taxi. If you return on the same day, we recommend booking the flight after 2.00 pm.
