Active holiday at Lake Wolfgangsee

Route 1 – Round tour around Lake Wolfgangsee (23 km)
Take the ferry from Abersee to St. Wolfgang (bicycle transport included), where we suggest you to take a walk through the village and visit the famous Pilgrim's Church which houses the Altar of Michael Pacher. The cycling route then passes through Strobl and Abersee, reaching St. Gilgen, the hometown of Mozart's mother and sister. Continue along the lakeshore to return to Abersee. Alternatively, you can take the boat from St. Gilgen to Abersee/Geschwendt. 

Route 2 – Bicycle tour to Bad Ischl (42 km) 
From Abersee, passing through Weissenbach/Strobl and Lindau, you reach the imperial city of Bad Ischl. Once there, you can stroll through the historic center, board the tourist train, or a horse-drawn carriage for a tour of the main sights such as the Imperial Villa, the Kurpark, the Trinkhalle, the Pfarrgasse and Café Zauner, to name just a few.
Then you return to Strobl via Pfandl and Windhag, and continue to Abersee passing through the Nature Reserve of Blinklingmoos.

Route 3 – Bicycle tour to Lake Hallstatt (72 km)
From the hotel, head towards Bad Ischl and continue along the Traun River, passing through Lauffen to Bad Goisern. Beyond Bad Goisern, you reach Au, a district of Steeg, from where you start to follow the cycle path on the east bank of the enchanting Lake Hallstatt up to the train station in Hallstatt. Here you can leave your bicycles and take a ferry to reach the other side of the lake and the UNESCO World Heritage village of Hallstatt. After having visited the village, you can take the ferry back to retrieve your bikes at the station. We suggest taking the train to Bad Ischl, and from there, take a bus or bike back to Abersee. 

Route 4 – Bicycle tour to Mondsee and Attersee Lakes (56 km)
The route will take you to St. Gilgen and then onto the Scharfling Pass (steep ascent, but short) and the Krottensee Lake until you reach Lake Mondsee. At this point, you can take a tour around the lake and visit the beautiful village of Mondsee with the famous basilica where some scenes from the movie The Sound of Music were filmed. Then continue towards Au and Unterach, on Lake Attersee. You can decide to take a refreshing swim in either lake. Finally, cross the Scharfling again and continue to St. Gilgen and Abersee.

Route 5 – Bicycle tour to Lake Traunsee + boat and train (76 km)
Cycle from Abersee to Bad Ischl, which you cross by taking the cycle path along the Traun River, up to Ebensee, on Lake Traunsee. Here you board the boat to Gasthof Hoisn and continue by bicycle going through Gmunden, Altmünster and Traunkirchen before returning to Ebensee, where you take the train back to Bad Ischl and then proceed by bus or bicycle to Abersee.

Route 6 – Program suggestion: Visit Salzburg (day without bikes)
You can reach Salzburg by bus (about 1 hour) or by car. The main attractions of the city are: the Getreidegasse, the heart of the historic center, the Cathedral and the magnificent Residenzplatz, the Museum of Modern Art located on the Mönchsberg mountain, the Mirabell Gardens, the Museum of Natural Sciences, Mozart's birthplace, the Hohensalzburg Fortress, a symbol of the city and an infinite number of other places that are easily reachable on foot.
