Day 1: Foligno
Individual arrival in Foligno, check-in at the hotel. Welcome briefing at 7:00 pm, dinner, and overnight in the hotel.
Day 2: Foligno – Montefalco – Bevagna – Foligno (40 km, +/- 400m)
Travel along a fantastic network of white, panoramic country roads in the Umbrian countryside, part of the Sagrantino route, until you reach Montefalco. Visit this charming city surrounded by ancient walls. Its narrow streets, churches, ancient buildings, cylindrical towers, and magnificent views have earned Montefalco the nickname of The Balcony of Umbria. You will then proceed to Bevagna, an ancient medieval village, where you can appreciate its historic center, with important buildings, remnants of Roman temples, Roman baths, churches, and monasteries after passing through its walls. A tasting at a winery between Montefalco and Bevagna. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 3: Foligno – Assisi – Spello – Foligno (45 km, +/- 800m)
Today you will cycle along country lanes towards Spello, considered one of The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, which preserves ancient remains such as the Roman amphitheater and the villa of mosaics. The itinerary then continues towards Assisi, the city of St. Francis, cycling first in the beautiful Parco del Monte Subasio and then through charming villages. Once you reach Assisi, the route will take you to the major fortress, from where you can admire the magnificent panorama of the plain below. After a snack break, you'll get back on your bikes to head to Spello, cycling on the ancient Via degli Ulivi. Take the opportunity to taste beers at a brewery or extra virgin olive oil at a local press. Return to Foligno, dinner in a typical restaurant, overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Foligno – Trevi – Foligno (35 km, +/- 300m)
After breakfast, departure to Trevi, the Capital of olive oil and one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. On your bikes, you will cross an area characterized by centuries-old olive plantations. Here, everything speaks of oil and excellence. There's even a high-end cooking school dedicated to the study of using olive oil in contemporary cuisine. Once you reach the village, the treasures of the old town await, including the Museum of St. Francis. Return to Foligno, dinner, and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Foligno – Rasiglia – Foligno (50 km, +/- 900m)
Today you will set off on your e-bike to discover the picturesque village of Rasiglia and the wonderful Capovena spring. Rasiglia is a charming village characterized by ancient stone houses, wrought-iron bridges, and a complex system of water canals crossing the streets. But the real gem of this village is the Capovena spring, which provides clean, crystal-clear water to the entire village. The spring is surrounded by unspoilt nature, with woods and green meadows, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. A mill, a fulling mill, and some houses in the village were once owned by the Trinci family, who, exploiting the precious presence of water, had established those activities that for centuries then guaranteed the growth of the entire community. Tasting at a local brewery. Return to the hotel, dinner at a typical restaurant, overnight in Foligno.
Day 6: Foligno – Spoleto – Fonti del Clitunno – Campello Alto – Foligno (60 km, +/-350m)
After breakfast in the hotel, departure to Spoleto, one of the oldest cities in Umbria with a millenary history, dating back to the Bronze Age as shown by the remains of the necropolis. The ancient cyclopean walls protect the old town, rich in monuments, squares, palaces, fountains, and viewpoints. Famous for the Festival of Two Worlds, it offers visitors an ancient aristocratic flavor due to the imposing nature of some scenic monuments such as the Rocca Albornoziana, the ancient residence of the Borgia family with an attached old Roman aqueduct called Ponte delle Torri. At the end of the visit to the old town, you will continue to the sources of Clitunno, a natural park that houses the sources of the Clitunno river, which was even navigable once. At the end of the day, you will return to Foligno along an ancient road to the small center of Campello Alto, which with its ancient castle, overlooks the green Spoleto plain. Dinner at a typical restaurant, overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Foligno
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure.
