Description

Day 1: Porto – Miranda do Douro (Transfer)
Your unforgettable journey will begin with a transfer from Porto airport to Miranda do Douro. Along the way, let yourself be enchanted by the wonderful landscapes as you pass through the Portuguese countryside. Upon arrival, the majestic canyons carved by the Douro River will captivate you with walls towering over 200 meters. Once in Miranda do Douro, we suggest exploring the town: lose yourself among its characteristic white houses and charming cobbled streets, where the ancient charm will welcome you.

Day 2: Miranda do Douro – Sendim (41 km; +311 m)
Your cycling adventure will begin by pedaling through the International Douro Natural Reserve. Here, you'll find a breathtaking plateau, renowned for its wild natural beauty and unique landscapes. The silence will only be broken by the song of over 170 bird species and the peaceful passage of wild boars and, if you're lucky, Iberian wolves. Look up to the sky: you might spot a rare specimen of golden eagle or Egyptian vulture. A delightful picnic will await you in this enchanting natural setting.

Day 3: Sendim – Torre de Moncorvo (38 km; +243 m)
Today's itinerary will take you along an old railway line, through woods, fields, and typical agricultural landscapes. The locals, though they may not speak your language, will greet you with warm smiles. Continuing your ride, you will pass through centuries-old olive groves and almond trees until you reach the medieval town of Torre de Moncorvo. Here, you will learn about the tradition of almond blossoms and taste delicious local liqueurs, accompanied by the sublime Moncorvo almonds. A picnic in this historical context will further enrich your experience.

Day 4: Torre de Moncorvo – Vila Flor (38 km; +343 m)
Today you will start cycling along the majestic Douro River, catching the most evocative and engaging panoramas. The descent towards the river will be a journey through gravel roads, surrounded by almond trees decorating your path. You will cross a stretch of national road with a safe margin that will take you from Pocinho to Foz do Sabor. Here, among the olive groves producing some of the best oils in the world, you will stop in Lodões, where you will be welcomed by a local producer with a picnic lunch prepared with seasonal local products. The day will end in a rural house in the Iberian Plateau Biosphere Reserve.

Day 5: Vila Flor – Sabrosa (29 km; +230 m or 32 km; +250 m)
You will enter the heart of the Alto Douro wine region, famous for its renowned wines and terraced landscapes, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will pedal among vineyards and ancient quintas, home to some of the most famous Porto wine cellars. When you reach the river, you will load the bikes onto a typical Rabelo boat for a river cruise to Pinhão. Explore the beautiful tiled train station before spending the night in a 17th-century house overlooking the city with an unmatched view. The day will also include a picnic and dinner.

Day 6: Sabrosa – Peso da Régua (44 km; +420 m)
The last stage of your adventure begins on small paths that cross the secondary roads of the Douro Valley. You will pedal along a quiet cycle path overlooking the river, where the views will leave you breathless. You will arrive at Peso da Régua, the nerve center of the Porto wine region, the heart of the unforgettable travel experience you’ve had. You will be welcomed by the owner of one of the renowned quintas with a glass of good wine and can participate in an authentic culinary experience.

Day 7: Peso da Régua – Porto (Transfer)
After the last breakfast together, a transfer will take you to Porto airport, returning to your lives with a heart full of memories and emotions experienced on this unique journey.
