Description

Day 1: San Benedetto del Tronto
Arrival in San Benedetto del Tronto, Check-in at the hotel from 3:00 p.m. onwards. Welcome briefing and bike test. You can visit the city center and the Riviera of Palms, enjoying an ice cream on the seafront. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: San Benedetto del Tronto – Roseto degli Abruzzi (47 km; +/- 200 m)
Your journey along the Bike to Coast of Abruzzo starts in San Benedetto del Tronto (Adriatic Bike Route) and crosses the Sentina Nature Reserve (first off-road section). You will cycle through a landscape of water and sand that extends for about 180 hectares within the Municipality of San Benedetto del Tronto, between the town of Porto d’Ascoli to the North and the Tronto river to the South. After crossing the Tronto river, you will arrive at the Zero point of the Abruzzo Bike To Coast, in the province of Teramo. From here, the Abruzzo cycle path will allow you to visit Martinsicuro, Alba Adriatica, Tortoreto Lido, Giulianova, Cologna beach. You will enter the Borsacchio Reserve, an area of untouched beauty that still preserves all aspects of the integrity of the sandy Abruzzo coast, with its embryonic dunes of halophyte vegetation and traces of Mediterranean scrub. It's possible to take a tasting break in a cellar before arriving at the hotel in Roseto degli Abruzzi. Overnight stay in Roseto degli Abruzzi.

Day 3: Roseto degli Abruzzi – Francavilla al Mare (40 km; +/- 154 m)

Today's stage on the Bike To Coast crosses the magnificent Pineto pine forest and the beautiful Marine Park of Torre Di Cerrano. In the Teramo section, between the municipalities of Pineto and Silvi, the marine area delimits seven kilometers of coastline and completes a program of environmental protection and enhancement, joining the network of underwater oases that have allowed, in recent years, the safeguarding, repopulation and study of the marine ecosystem. You then leave the province of Teramo to enter the province of Pescara, through Montesilvano and Pescara. After passing the Sea Bridge, you will arrive in Francavilla al Mare, where you will stay. Overnight stay in Francavilla al Mare.

Day 4: Francavilla al Mare – Fossacesia (35 km; +/- 558 m)
Your journey on the Abruzzo Bike to Coast sets off again in the south direction. You will cross the vast territory of the province of Chieti, along the coast. Take a break to visit Ortona, with the Aragonese castle. The itinerary then continues along the sea starting from the Acquabella Reserve. You can also visit the Canadian Cemetery, located on the Gustav line during the Great War. The maze of tunnels begins to emerge here and you arrive in San Vito Chietino, the gateway to the Trabocchi Coast. From here you will start seeing these old fishing huts suspended over the sea. You will continue to admire the sea and the surrounding hills to venture along the Teatina coast until reaching Fossacesia. A dinner on the Trabocco is highly recommended. Overnight stay in Fossacesia.

Day 5: Fossacesia – Vasto (39 km; +/- 340 m)
You will wake up on the Trabocchi Coast and, after the evening dinner which will have made you better understand what the Trabocchi represent for these areas, you will start this last bike day along the Bike To Coast of Abruzzo heading south, towards the most suggestive part of the entire route. Today you will indeed reach the Punta Aderci Reserve and that of Punta Penna; here the ground returns to gravel, amidst the vegetation on the sea, and at times it seems almost to be on the coast of Scotland, with scenarios overlooking the sea that make this last day magical. You will pass in front of the historic Trabocchi of the coast to the Gulf of Vasto, where your journey ends. Peeking out from the Ambling Loggia, on clear days, you will be able to spot the Tremiti Islands. Take an evening walk in the old village, with the castle, the churches, the beautiful views, and the splendid palaces, like the D'Avalos one. For dinner, don't forget to try the Vasto-style Brodetto from the Gulf (the best restaurants are in the port area). Overnight stay in Vasto.

Day 6: Vasto/San Salvo
After breakfast, end of services. Individual departures for respective destinations.
