Description

Day 1: Geneva
Individual arrival in Geneva. We recommend you plan your arrival so you have time to visit the city. Your hotel is located in the historic center, which you can conveniently visit on foot. After settling in, take the opportunity to stroll through the gardens and alleys of the center, take a batobus ride, or do some shopping: remember that you're in a city famous worldwide for chocolate, watches, and knives!

Day 2: Geneva – Seyssel (63 km; +680/-820 m)
After breakfast, Welcome Briefing at the hotel: a staff member will explain the route and hand over all the necessary material for the trip. Then let the adventure begin! This first stage will be the toughest of the whole week: you will have to face some climbs, but also many beautiful descents. The route runs southwest, through cultivated fields and vineyards. You will cross the Swiss border at Chancy and from there you will continue to Savoie, a French region where you will spend the rest of the trip. Magnificent views and picturesque villages will offer you the excuse to stop more often along the way. The stage ends in Seyssel, a small village on the banks of the Rhone. Your hotel, overlooking the river, is the ideal place to rest your tired legs.

Day 3: Seyssel – Champagneux (53 km; +340/- 330 m)
The second stage is much easier than the previous one. Take some time to explore Chanaz, the Little Venice of the Savoie, and make a stop in the Roman city of Belley to taste the exquisite local cheeses. If you want to add a few kilometers to today's stage, we recommend having lunch at one of the wineries in the Lac du Bourget (Lake Bourget) area, the largest natural glacial lake in France. Finally, end the day with an excellent Savoyarde dinner in Champagneux, where you will spend the night.

Day 4: Champagneux – Pérouges (68 km; +330/-320 m or 88 km; +380/-360 m)
Today you can choose between two routes: the longer one follows the official route of the Viarhôna; you pedal through the French department of Isère, on quiet country roads. The shorter route, on the other hand, follows the Rhone more closely. In both cases, the stage ends in the fortified city of Pérouges, an authentic medieval treasure, perfectly preserved.

Day 5: Pérouges – Lyon (43 km; +170/-250 m)
Since Lyon has enough points of interest to keep you busy for entire days, consider the short option if you want to get there in the shortest possible time. If, on the other hand, you want to enjoy the approach, you can have a picnic in the Miribel Jonage Park (one of the largest urban parks in Europe), at the gates of Lyon, and take the opportunity to take a dip in the Lac des Eaux Bleues. Once in Lyon, the possibilities are endless: from the walk to the hill on which the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière stands, offering a magnificent panorama; to the visit one of the many museums. You can also decide to reward yourself for the efforts made on the bike, with some specialties of the bouchons lyonnais, the typical restaurants with checkered tablecloth, slate menu and dishes whose flavors are unique and unforgettable.

Day 6: Lyon
After breakfast, end of services. Individual departure or extension of stay in Lyon.
