Description

Day 1: Blois
Individual arrival in Blois. Possibility to visit the castle, a perfect illustration of how French architecture evolved between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and the beautiful historic center, with its typical cobbled streets, gardens, staircases, churches.

Day 2: Blois - Amboise (40 km; +200m)
Following the bike paths of the Pays des Châteaux network and crossing small villages, you will reach the castle of Chaumont-sur-Loire, which proudly overlooks the river. The bike paths of La Loire à Vélo will then lead you to the charming town of Amboise with its royal castle, where the greatest kings of France lived and where Leonardo Da Vinci also spent the last years of his life.

Day 3: Amboise - Chenonceaux (42 km,; +166m)
Today you'll reach the wonderful Castle of Chenonceau. The itinerary will take you to cycle among the vineyards of Montlouis-sur-Loire and through the Cher valley, the river on which the famous Castle of Chenonceau, a stage for the rivalry between Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de' Medici, respectively mistress and wife of Henry II, is literally built. The interiors of the castle are certainly the most surprising, but it is also worth taking a walk in the castle gardens and relaxing in the shade of the immense trees in the park, letting yourself be lulled by the murmur of the river that will tell you the secrets of the castle.

Day 4: Chenonceaux - Cheverny or Chitenay (40 or 55 km; ; +209m or +173m)
Cycling along the quiet banks of the Cher river, you will reach the medieval town of Montrichard. Then leave the Cher to immerse yourself among the vineyards of Turenne, passing by the small fortress of Fougères-sur-Bièvre, a perfect example of 15th-century local architecture. Today's stage ends in Chitenay, in a charming rural inn, or in Cheverny, close to the castle.

Day 5: Cheverny or Chitenay - Blois (40 or 50 km; +238m or +290m)
During this last bike stage you will discover the famous and sumptuously furnished Castle of Cheverny, before reaching the magnificent Castle of Chambord, a masterpiece of the French Renaissance. Built at the behest of Francis I, with its 440 rooms it is the largest of the Loire castles.

Day 6: Blois
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure.
