Description

Day 1: Avignon
Individual arrival in Avignon. If you arrive early, you will have time to visit this charming city and in particular, the famous Palais des Papes! With its imposing walls and cobblestone streets, Avignon will immediately transport you back in time. Theatres, museums and art galleries sit alongside trendy bars and modern restaurants, providing a unique blend of old and new that will captivate you.

Day 2: Avignon - Fontaine de Vaucluse or Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (33 km or 24 km)
You will still have time to visit Avignon before setting off on this short stage through the plains of the Sorgue river, where orchards and cultivated fields offer an abundance of sun-kissed fruit and vegetables. Enjoy a relaxing break in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, known as the Venice of Provence!

Day 3: Fontaine de Vaucluse – Gordes – Fontaine de Vaucluse (42 km) or Isle-sur-la-Sorgue – Gordes – Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (48 km)
This region is too beautiful to leave so soon! You will spend the day exploring the picturesque Luberon valley. Some must-see destinations await you: the magnificent village of Gordes and the Abbey of Notre-Dame de Sénanque, surrounded by lavender fields (optional).

Day 4: Fontaine de Vaucluse – Vacqueyras (51 km or 44 km) or Isle-sur-la-Sorgue – Gigondas (50 km or 45 km)
Your stage will take you through vineyards at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, a limestone massif eroded over time, with the plains of Vaucluse and the famous wine villages of Beaumes-de-Venise and Vacqueyras at its foot. Option: hiking trip through Dentelle de Montmirail (6 km) and extra night at Vacqueyras or Gigondas. You will stroll along these rocks sculpted like a jagged ribbon. A breathtaking panorama awaits you!

Day 5: Vacqueyras or Gigondas – Orange (40 km or 51 km)
Your journey continues at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail to Séguret, one of the most beautiful villages in France, before crossing the vineyards of the Côtes du Rhône and their picturesque villages: Cairanne and Rasteau. In Orange, admire the Roman monuments, the ancient theatre or the triumphal arch, and enjoy the charm of the historic centre with its shops and cafés. As an optional extra, you can visit Vaison-la-Romaine, a charming town with 2000 years of open-air history, a mix of Roman grandeur and medieval charm.

Day 6: Orange – Avignon (35 km)
You will leave Orange to cycle through the prestigious vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, renowned worldwide for the quality of their wines. Take the time to visit the charming village and taste some of the great wines of the denomination. You will reach Avignon by following the ViaRhona.
