Description

Day 1: Arrival in Soulac-sur-Mer
Individual arrival in Soulac-sur-Mer, a beautiful seaside resort with Belle Epoque architecture, and check-in at the hotel.

Day 2: Soulac-sur-Mer – Montalivet (20 or 30 km)
A former railway line, adapted into a cycle path and easy to travel, will take you through a pine forest. The scent of resin will accompany you up to the small seaside resort of Montalivet. Overnight in Naujac-sur-Mer or Hourtin.

Day 3: Montalivet – Lacanau (63 km)
A relaxing stage through the Gironde forest. The impeccable Vélodyssée bike path, passes through the pines, up to Hourtin Plage: here you can choose between a break on the ocean or at a freshwater lake. Hourtin Lake is not far away, and reminiscent of the lakes in the Swedish forest - just warmer! Then, you will head to Carcans Plage and Lacanau-Océan, a well-known surfer's beach, for a stage close to the ocean. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the ocean!

Day 4: Lacanau – Andernos (60 km)
Today you will bike along the ocean, between dunes and pine forests, through a wild landscape to Grand Crohot and its expanses of beach. From there, you will move to Arès and the north of the Arcachon bay, and through the beautiful bike paths of the Vélodyssée you will reach the village of Andernos, with its sandy beaches and oyster port. You may visit the tip of the Cap Ferret peninsula and return once you reach the Arcachon bay (10 to 30 km) for a detour that will offer marvellous views!

Day 5: Andernos – Arcachon (40 km)
It's worth spending some time at Arcachon Bay, with the Certes marshes, spread over 400 hectares, forming a vast mosaic of seaweed, fishponds and wet pastures where numerous migratory birds gather each season. Then, you will bike towards the Leyre delta and admire the colourful little houses of the Biganos port's fishermen. Once in the southern part of the Bay of Arcachon, you will leave your bikes to settle in the elegant seaside resort of Arcachon, with its beautiful beaches.

Day 6: Arcachon – Biscarosse (26 km)
Today's short stage will allow you to have time to take a tour to the top of the Dune of Pilat, to admire its beauty and enjoy the heavenly view. You will make a crossing in the Landaise forest to reach Biscarrosse Plage.

Day 7: Biscarosse – Mimizan (58 km)
The Vélodyssée leaves the coast for a broad foray into the hinterland, where the blue of the enormous ponds replaces the azure of the sea. After Biscarrosse and Parentis Lakes, the route continues north of Aureilhan Lake. You will then ride for a few kilometers to Mimizan, where you will spend the night.

Day 8: Mimizan – Vieux Boucau (60 km)
Today you will pass through the most wooded part of the Landes, then head towards Leon Lake through Vielle-Saint-Girons, and along a wonderful last bike path to reach Vieux Boucau and its astounding lake near the ocean.

Day 9: Vieux Boucau – Biarritz (65 km)
Today you will pedal along the ocean up to Hossegor, famous for its waves, then continue to Bayonne and Biarritz, to conclude this magnificent bicycle Odyssey (Vélodyssée) along the Atlantic.

Day 10: Biarritz
After breakfast, end of services.
