Description

Day 1: Siófok
Arrival in Siófok and check-in at the hotel. Siófok is a popular and lively tourist destination, which in the summer attracts many foreign and Hungarian visitors who come to enjoy the lake. The city has two large beaches, Silver Beach, popular among families, and Golden Beach, more frequented by younger people. Siófok offers all possible comforts: shops, cafeterias and restaurants.

Day 2: Tihany Peninsula and Balatonfüred Spa Resort (55 km)
Today you will ride the southern coast of Lake Balaton by bike to Szántód, where the only ferry service operates. You will cross the lake to the northern coast, disembarking at Tihany, where the famous monastery is located; the church on the northern peninsula offers an unforgettable panoramic view of the entire lake. You will continue onto Balatonfüred. Allow yourself a coffee on the almost kilometer-long Tagore promenade before heading home.

Day 3: Southern shore of Lake Balaton (45 km)
The day begins with a train ride to Fonyód, from where you start pedaling along the plain of the southern bank, to Siófok. You will cycle the southern side of Lake Balaton, where you will find a well-developed cycling network with routes through the villages near the lake. Very popular among cyclists, this route also provides the unique opportunity to taste one of the delicious locally produced wines in Balatonboglár or take a refreshing dip at one of the public beaches. A pleasant day cycling to discover the villages that dot the southern coast.

Day 4: Northern shore of Lake Balaton and Badacsony wine region (60 km)
By train, you will move west today and by boat reach Fonyód, to cross the lake and reach Badacsony. The small village of Badacsonytomaj, is in the heart of one of the most famous wine regions in Hungary. There are many wineries to visit and perhaps the most idyllic place to spend some time is the terrace of the Villa Kisfaludy, on the upper slope of the Badacsony basalt cone mountain. With good weather, you can see well beyond Lake Balaton, up to almost 80 km. Then you will head back north, skirting hamlets and villages to Tihany, where you will take the ferry and return to the southern shore of the lake, after a day full of activities.

Day 5: Circular tour on Lake Velence (50 km)
Today you will pedal north, to reach the charming city of Székesfehérvár's coronation. You will take the train from Siófok to Székesfehérvár, to explore the fascinating baroque city center, strolling between ancient monuments, like the cathedral and the ruins garden. Then you'll start the bike tour along Lake Velence, Hungary's second most famous lake after Lake Balaton. Return to the hotel by train.

Day 6: Western shore of Lake Balaton (57 km)
In today's stage, you will explore the western side of Lake Balaton by bike. You will take the train from Siófok to Fonyód and the boat to Badacsony. You will continue to Keszthely by bike and in Szigliget you can make a detour to visit the ruins of a medieval castle, perched on top of a 239-meter high hill. In fact, Szigliget is one of the most charming villages on Lake Balaton, very popular among vacationers and second home owners, who appreciate its tranquility and its location on a peninsula. From there you quickly reach Keszthely, the magnificent baroque palace, built by the Festetics family, the third largest in Hungary. Set in a beautiful park in the city center, it is definitely worth a visit. From Keszthely, the itinerary takes you south, through idyllic villages to Fonyód, where you can take the train back to Siófok.

Day 7: Siófok
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure.
