Description

```html
Day 1: Amsterdam
Individual arrival in Amsterdam and check-in at the hotel. We suggest arriving early to stroll through the beautiful and tranquil canal area, dating back to the 17th century and recognized as a World Heritage Site. If you enjoy bustling atmospheres, don’t miss a visit to the city's famous squares: Dam, Rembrandtplein, and Leidseplein. If you prefer exploring lesser-known areas, take a walk to Brouwersgracht or rent a pedal boat to enjoy the city view from the water.
Day 2: Amsterdam – Haarlem/Santpoort (30 km)
If you rise early, you can avoid the queues and visit the Van Gogh Museum or Anne Frank House, before departing from Amsterdam and starting your bicycle journey through the Netherlands. Once you leave the capital, you'll cycle through Kennemerland, where a great variety of landscapes await: vast polders, gardens, country estates, woods, and beautiful peatlands. You will overnight in Haarlem. The city center is very charming and offers numerous possibilities for shopping, exploring art and culture, or simply relaxing in cafés and restaurants.
Day 3: Haarlem/Santpoort – Leiden (43 km)
Haarlem is an essential stop on any cycling tour of the Netherlands and deserves thorough exploration. We recommend a walk to discover its hidden hofjes: small courtyards surrounded by tiny hostels. A visit to the Frans Hals Museum is highly recommended, showcasing works by the Haarlem painter Frans Hals (group portraits) and his fellow citizens, allowing you to immerse yourself in the Dutch Golden Age. In the afternoon, get ready for a cycling trip through the colorful Dune and Bulb Region. Today's destination is Leiden, the oldest university city in the Netherlands. Always very lively, it offers many cultural events, and in the beautiful old town, there are canals, monuments, windmills, and museums. A special mention goes to the historic Botanical Garden. If you travel during the spring period (April/early May), which corresponds to the peak blooming period of millions of bulbs (tulips, crocuses, daffodils, and hyacinths), you can book an extra night in Leiden to visit the Keukenhof Flower Show.
Day 4: Leiden – Delft (29 km)
Leaving bustling Leiden, you will immerse yourself in the peace and tranquility of the countryside. As you cycle through the typical Dutch scenery, note the precision of the rectangular plots of land in the man-made polder landscape (mostly reclaimed peatland). Cycling towards the famous city of Delft, you will pass sparkling lakes and green pastures, old windmills, and farmhouses. The melancholic charm of Delft is breathtaking; many associate it with the blue and white hand-painted ceramics (Delftware), but Delft is also the city of the royal family, the Technical University, and Johannes Vermeer, who painted one of the most beautiful paintings here, Girl with a Pearl Earring... a mix of tradition and innovation!
Day 5: Delft – Gouda/Oudewater/Bodegraven (34 km)
Another must-see on a cycling tour of the Netherlands is the Groene Hart (Green Heart) region: cycling along the dikes that separate the polders, admire the villages, vast horizons, and brilliantly green fields, bordered by canals and perfectly squared. Today's stop is in Gouda, where we recommend a visit to the Gothic-style Town Hall (1450), the Weigh House (1667), the romantic canals in the center, and the stained glass windows of St. John’s Church. Gouda is also famous for its honey waffles (try them warm!) and artisanal candles. In summer, you can plan your trip so that the 6th day falls on a Thursday, to see the cheese market, held every Thursday morning (from April to the last Thursday in August).
Day 6: Gouda/Oudewater/Bodegraven – Amsterdam (68 km)
After breakfast, you will cycle the longest leg of your tour through the Netherlands. A small detour will take you to Utrecht, through rivers, lakes, and polders (don't forget binoculars if you love bird watching!). In the lively center of Utrecht, at the foot of the Dom Cathedral, flows the tranquil Old Canal (Oude Gracht) with its characteristic and unique wharfs in the Netherlands. Today they provide an ideal setting for numerous outdoor cafés and restaurants. Try the Dutch fruit tart! Refreshed by the break, you can resume your journey along the beautiful Vecht River, back to Amsterdam. If this leg seems too long, we can split it into two days (30 + 48 km) by booking an extra night in Woerden.
Day 7: Amsterdam
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure.
