Prague in 3 days, what not to miss

Needless to say that the best way to visit the Czech capital is by bike. The city center can be visited comfortably on foot as well, but the bike is unbeatable for discovering even the more peripheral neighborhoods, which are rich in art and entertainment.

If you want to visit Prague, the things to see in 3 days are:

  • Stare Mesto, Prague's living room;

  • Mala Strana with the Charles Bridge;

  • The Castle and its hill;

  • The Jewish Quarter, Josefov;

  • The new city, Nove Mesto;

  • The Dancing House;

  • Krymská Street;

  • Náplavka, the banks of the Vltava river.

Let's start with Stare Mesto, the Old Town, the very heart and symbol of Prague. Don't miss the Old Town Square and its architecture, including Kinsky Palace, which now houses art exhibitions, the municipal astronomical clock and the Estates Theater.

Another symbol of Prague is the Charles Bridge, which connects Stare Mesto with Mala Strana: here, you and your friends can admire a beautiful panoramic view of the city. Mala Strana is known as the "small city" and this area of Prague is particularly suggestive.

If instead you are looking for a place in nature where to take a spectacular photo of the city and enjoy the sunset, this is surely the Petrin Hill. Not far there is also the beautiful Prague Castle, a timeless place to admire both during the day and at night when it is lit up.

The Josefov is the Jewish quarter of the city that was completely rebuilt in art-nouveau style. Not to be missed in this area are the ancient Jewish cemetery, the Pinsakova Synagogue, and the Old-New Synagogue which is the oldest in Europe.

The new area of the city is called Nove Mesto and is the perfect place for shopping and moments of relaxation in the neighborhood pubs. You can start from Wenceslas Square, the place where the independence of the Czech Republic was celebrated in 1918.

If you love contemporary architecture, the Dancing House is a must-see stop. It is located on the banks of the Vltava and is a work of architects Vlado Milunic and Frank Gehry.

Finally, if you are looking for some unusual things to see and do in Prague, in the Vršovice district and in Náplavka there are hipster atmospheres:

  • Krymská street, in Vršovice, is full of cafes, publishing houses, yoga centers and old cinemas;

  • Náplavka instead is one of the banks of the Vltava where there are many outdoor bars and pubs, perfect for having a beer in summer.

Nightlife in Prague

Prague is known for its vibrant nightlife rich in clubs, discos and bars where to have fun.

The first thing you need to know are the Prague pubs, where you can taste excellent Czech beers.

If you and your friends want a full immersion into the world of beer, you can't miss the Prague Beer Museum where you can taste more than 30 Czech beers and The Pub, where you can pour yourself a mug of beer, directly at your own table.
