The most well-known Finnish recipes typically include reindeer meat, salmon and herring.

Even though it is not among the most famous cuisines in the world, Finnish food offers a wide array of tasty and unique dishes. Among the meat-based dishes we can mention reindeer stew, ham cooked with cloves and Karelian stew. If you love fish, you can try marinated or smoked salmon and the small Baltic Sea herrings, known as silakka.

Finally, we can't forget the desserts, of which the Finns are particularly fond. In addition to ginger biscuits and cinnamon sweets, remember to try the pannukakku which are pancakes served with berry jam and whipped cream: a real delight.

In Finland the sauna is considered a real tradition: you will find saunas much more easily than bars or restaurants. Considering the frequency with which the Finns visit the saunas, bathing suits are considered real clothes to choose carefully. A kind of Sunday dress!

Among the five curiosities of Finland, we cannot forget the winter sports: snow and ice here allow you to try numerous sports. In addition to cross-country skiing, called hiihto, you can choose to go snowshoeing or spend a few hours winter fishing.

Finland is famous all over the world for its landscapes. From birch and red fir forests to large lakes: here nature reigns supreme and offers the visitor the opportunity to admire some plant and animal specimens hardly visible elsewhere, such as bears and reindeer. There are also plenty of husky farms: you can indeed visit one of these places and even follow a sled driving lesson!

Finally, one of the elements that simply cannot be missed on a trip exploring Finland is an igloo. Not only can you sleep inside it, but you can also build one with the aid of a shovel and pickaxe, each of us can become a fantastic igloo architect.
