Bicycle Music: the perfect playlist for a bike ride

When you travel by bike or move around the city, having a playlist that accompanies every pedal stroke is always pleasing. Music indeed has an incredible power on people's mood and can even give an extra boost. That's why many athletes choose to listen to music during their workouts and on the contrary, some competitions have explicitly forbidden its listening as considered "doping". But how can you create the perfect bike music playlist?

A lot depends on your musical tastes, whether you prefer rock, rap or RnB or blues music, but there are some historical hits that just can't be missed!

Bike music playlist: 7 unmissable songs

Whether it's classic rock or folk music, the notes can accompany you on your travels as a background, making everything even more exciting. For this reason, there are many cyclists and travelers who have created a very personal bike music playlist, which motivates them and excites them during their pedaling. So now we want to give you some ideas to create your own, but don't forget to always pay attention to your safety when pedaling in the city or on extra-urban roads!

There are some songs that star the bike, while others manage to create and arouse particular emotions or states of mind: a soul song, for example, can be listened to during moments of calm, when crossing a country road, while Red Hot Chili Peppers or Daft Punk can give the right energy to face even an uphill stretch, focusing attention on the rhythm rather than on the climb, here are 7 songs not to be missed to create your perfect bike music playlist:

Mark Ronson, The Bike Song

A real hymn to the bicycle, released in 2010, is one of the few alternative hip hop tunes to exalt two wheels, it's perfect for everyday urban routes.

The Queen, Bicycle Race

A super classic, perfect for every occasion, a real hymn to freedom written by Freddie Mercury in 1978 after running into a stage of the Tour de France.

Daft Punk, Around the World

Daft Punk has created a rhythm in which entire generations have been identified, and this is the perfect song to face the most intense pedaling rhythms. Electronic music may not appeal to everyone, but this song is an icon of the '90s and cannot be missing from the playlist that will accompany you in discovering new destinations on the bicycle.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bicycle Song

Those looking for a more classic rock can opt for this song with a relaxed Californian rhythm, perfect if you are having a long ride in the countryside, or near the sea.

Pink Floyd, Bike

Looking for psychedelic suggestions? This song written by Syd Barrett in 1967 for his then girlfriend is capable of transporting you into a unique sound dimension, to get lost among equally unique landscapes, such as those of Northern Europe, for example.

Clash, Car Jamming

To get back on a more intense rhythm, Clash cannot be missed with this song included in the Combat Rock album. The rebellious English style characterizes all of Clash's music, even if Car Jamming can also be listened to for more relaxed rides, perhaps zigzagging among the shadows of the trees on a bike path in southern France.

Katie Melua, Nine Million Bicycles

It was a trip to Beijing that inspired Katie Melua to write this piece, which she included in her second album, in 2005. Try listening to it during a break from the saddle on the terrace of a café in Amsterdam, Copenhagen or even simply Ferrara.

Credence Clearwater Revival, Lookin' out of my Back Door

In a road trip, Creedence Clearwater Revival songs can never be missed, considered par excellence the perfect band to listen to while traveling, whether by bike or by any other means.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zoe, Home

Always very alternative and classic style, this band has created a single that revolutionized 2009. It's called Home and has a much more vintage rhythm than it actually was, impeccably combining folk music with rock, capable of accompanying you traveling really anywhere.

Bruce Springsteen, Born to Run

The real energy needed in moments of intense cycling rhythm is given by Bruce Springsteen who with his Born to Run will give you the right energy to reach the end of the stage.

Riccardo Cocciante, In biking

We close with a piece of Italian music with an '80s sound to lighten the heart and legs and ride at sunset, perhaps by the sea, with the cyclist of your heart next to you.
