Description

Day 1: Foligno
Independent arrival in Foligno. Briefing with bike leader at 7:00 PM. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.

Day 2: Foligno – Assisi – Spello – Foligno (45km; +/-500 m)
Today you will cycle along country roads towards Spello, considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, which preserves ancient remains such as the Roman amphitheater and the mosaics of Villa Fidelia. The route then continues towards Assisi, the city of St. Francis, first cycling in the beautiful Monte Subasio Park and then through charming villages. Once you reach Assisi, the itinerary will take you to Rocca Maggiore, where you can admire the magnificent view of the plains below. After a snack break, you will get back on your bike to head to Spello along the ancient Via degli Ulivi. Take the opportunity to try some local beers at a brewery or extra virgin olive oil at a local mill. Return to Foligno, dinner at a typical restaurant, and overnight in a hotel.

Day 3: Foligno – Montefalco – Bevagna (55 km; +/-550 m)
The second stage of your Umbria bike tour will start on a fantastic network of panoramic white roads, leading you to Montefalco, which stands in the center of the Clitunno, Topino, and Tiber valleys. Short stop for a snack, or for a wine tasting at a winery. The tour then continues to Bevagna, an ancient medieval village, where, after passing its city wall you can appreciate the historic center, with important buildings, remains of Roman temples, Roman baths, churches and monasteries, before taking the white roads immersed in typical Umbrian vegetation, that will lead you to your farmhouse.

Day 4: Bevagna – Trevi – Bevagna (45 km; +/-450 m)
After breakfast, departure from the farmhouse towards Trevi, following a bike path that will take you to the top of the snail-shaped village that inspired Leopardi for his Topaia castle. Take a short break for a snack and enjoy the spectacular view of the Umbrian valley. The route then continues to the La Fonte farm, where you will have the opportunity to taste typical products such as wine, oil, and saffron. Return to the farmhouse in Bevagna for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Bevagna – The Wine Hills – Spoleto (50 km; +/-300 mt)
Your tour through the historical and gastronomic wonders of Umbria by bike continues through the hills famous for the wine production, then cycling towards Spoleto, one of the most fascinating cities of art in Umbria, boasting a history of over 2000 years. Inside its walls, countless treasures are preserved, such as squares, buildings, fountains, and belvederes. Famous for the Festival dei Due Mondi, Spoleto is among the cities symbolizing international culture and place of unique beauties. Dinner free and overnight in a hotel.

Day 6: Spoleto – ex Railway – Valnerina – Spoleto (55 km, +/-650 m)
After breakfast, departure from Spoleto towards the Valnerina, a stunning natural gem of the region. The itinerary here develops on a bike path obtained from the track of the former railway, which once connected Spoleto to Norcia. Tasting of typical products at a producer on the shores of the Nera river. At the end, return to the hotel for overnight. Dinner is free.

Day 7: Spoleto – Foligno (27km, +/-40mt)
After breakfast, cycling on the easy bike path you will reach Foligno. Return of the bikes, end of services and individual departure.
