The Danube Delta by bike and boat

Day 1: Bucharest
Individual arrival in Bucharest and bus transfer at 14:00 (approximately 4 hours) to the starting point of the tour, Tulcea, in the Danube Delta. Board the comfortable floating hotel. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 2: Nufaru – Sfantu Gheorge (31 km)
Today we will cycle along the southernmost part of the Danube, through the Bestepe Hills Natural Reserve. The wonderful view of the Delta will make us forget some uphill stretches. We will then arrive in the small fishing village of Murighiol and enter a maze of canals, floating islands, dense forests and an adventurous boat experience. Overnight stay on board.

Day 3: Sfantu Gheorge – Sulina (25 km)
After a hearty breakfast, we will cycle along a gravel path where we can admire the Black Sea on our right, and on our left, the lush green reeds and marshy land. We will then arrive in Sulina: the Danube here, reaches its final destination and begins to merge with the sea salt. Overnight stay on the boat.

Day 4: Musura Gulf – Crisan (23 km)
Cycling through the bird paradise, the Bay of Musura, we will reach the picturesque village of Letea: here, it seems as though time has stopped. The houses are made of reeds and mud, adorable and painted blue, all surrounded by contemplative silence. Near the village, situated on a sandbank, you can observe an authentic wonder of nature: a tropical forest with climbing plants and vines. We will reach the fishing village of Crisan by boat. Overnight stay on board.

Day 5: Crisan – Tulcea by boat
During the cruise, we will cross a maze of narrow waterways, pass through small fishing villages and, once again, be able to experience the incredible diversity of the fauna and flora of the Danube Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, we will reach the vibrant town of Tulcea. Overnight on board.

Day 6: Dobruja Monasteries (26 km)
Today we will take a beautiful circular tour through a gently undulating landscape, up to the Orthodox monastery of Celic Dere, the largest convent in the territory of Dobruja. The beautiful Saon monastery, with its characteristic windmill, lies among the vineyards, right on the bank of the Danube. From the hills, we will enjoy a fantastic view of the vast and green floodplain, on the border with Ukraine. Return to Tulcea and overnight in the hotel.

Day 7: Lagoon tour in Cape Dolosman (42 km)
After breakfast, a bus will take us to the old town of Ceamurlia de Jos. The Cape Dolosman Natural Reserve, with the Greek-Roman excavations of Argamum, separates Golovita and Razim lakes. The itinerary will continue up to the medieval fortress of Enisala, located above the Danube. From here, we can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Razim Lagoon. Return to Tulcea and overnight in the hotel.

Day 8: Tulcea – Bucharest
After breakfast, bus transfer to the Romanian capital Bucharest, arrival at the airport approximately at 14:00. We advise not to book any flights before 16:00. Possibility to extend your stay in Tulcea or Bucharest.
