The Châteaux of the Loire in 4 days from Chitenay to Chaumont

Day 1: Chitenay – Cheverny (23 km)
The bike route first passes through the Castle of Troussay, a Renaissance style manor, and then by the Castle of Cheverny, famous for its sumptuously decorated interiors and precious furnishings, but especially for inspiring the cartoonist Hergé in the creation of the fantasy castle of Moulinsart in his Adventures of Tintin.

Day 2: Chambord Castle (56 km)
Today you will pedal through the immense forest of the Domaine de Chambord, in the center of which will welcome you, in all its Renaissance splendor, the largest and most majestic of the castles of the Loire: the spectacular Chambord Castle. On the way back, do not miss the chance to stop at one of the many local producers for a wine tasting: you are in the production area of refined DOC Cheverny.

Day 3: Blois (33 km)
Pedaling through the forest, you will reach the banks of the Loire, on which the beautiful town of Blois stands, where you can visit the wonderful historic center and the castle, perfect representation of how French architecture has evolved between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Day 4: Chaumont-sur-Loire (38 km)
Along quiet country roads, you will reach the Castle of Chaumont-sur-Loire, which dominates the Loire from a rocky spur above the river. In addition to the castle, do not miss the opportunity to also visit the International Garden Festival, held every year within the castle park. Here you can stroll among the artistic creations of gardeners and landscapers from around the world, who each year compete on a specific theme.
