Description

Day 1: Avignon
Individual arrival in Avignon, a city whose history was turned upside down when Pope Clement V moved the Papacy here between 1375 and 1378, as he wanted to go to Provence because Rome's air was unhealthy. Check-in at a 4-star hotel just outside the center, boasting an excellent restaurant, swimming pool, spa, and free parking.

Day 2: Avignon – Cavaillon (28 miles)
Meeting around 9:30 AM for the welcome briefing and bike rental, if required. The first biking stage will take you through the Petite Crau countryside, passing through the Provençal village of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Skirting the Alpilles, you'll reach Cavaillon, your final stop for the day.

Day 3: Cavaillon – Lourmarin (28 miles)
Today, you'll continue your journey along the southern side of the Luberon Massif, crossing the Durance River valley and through hills. You'll ride through typical Provençal villages of Méridol and Lauris before eventually reaching the charming village of Lourmarin while pedaling through its vineyards. Overnight stay in a lavish 4-star hotel with a park and swimming pool.

Day 4: Lourmarin – Gargas (22 miles)
Today's stage sees the stunning landscapes of Luberon accompanying you till Roussillon, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France. Other lovely villages will also call your path home. Overnight stay in a 3-star superior hotel in Gargas with an excellent restaurant, a beautiful park, and a swimming pool.

Day 5: Gargas – Isle sur la Sorgue (19 miles)
Today's route takes you pedaling from the ocher rocks and colourful houses of Roussillon to the canals of Isle sur la Sorgue, an enchanting village also known as the Venice of Provence. Overnight stay in Isle sur la Sorgue at a 4-star hotel with a view of the Durance River and a double swimming pool.

Day 6: Luberon (9 or 25 miles)
Today, you'll have the choice chance to choose different routes: You can visit the hilltop village of Gordes, or Fontaine la Vaucluse, placidly resting on emerald green waters of Sorgue. Alternatively, you can decide to cycle up to the famous Sénanque Abbey, nestled among lavender fields, especially picturesque during bloom season. Overnight stay in Isle sur la Sorgue.

Day 7: Isle sur la Sorgue – Avignon (19 miles)
The last leg of your journey unfolds on minor roads along the Durance River, between river landscapes and orchards that will accompany you to Avignon. Once in the city, allot some time to explore the historic center with the Papal Palace and the famous bridge. Overnight stay in a hotel with a swimming pool in Avignon.

Day 8: Avignon
After breakfast, end of services. Individual departure or extension of stay.
