Description

Day 1: Porto – Baiona
From Porto airport, you will be escorted to Baiona, in Galicia, a charming and vibrant port town, where a delicious plate of fresh fish is an absolute must. Don't forget to take a stroll around the port or the Monterreal Fortress, famous for the Torre del Principe.

Day 2: Baiona – Caminha (38 km; +/-293 m or 68 km; +/-462 m)
The first half of the day will be spent cycling along the Spanish coast, gently following the slopes of the Sierra de la Grova mountains and, a bit further south, the Sierra de Argalo. You can enter Portugal by ferry, crossing the Minho river and arriving in the town of Caminha, or by crossing the bridge at Vila Nova de Cerveira. In Caminha, you can admire the stately homes framing the town's entrance, whose history dates back to the pre-Roman period.

Day 3: Caminha – Viana do Castelo (29 km; +/-173 m or 40 km; +/-368 m)
Today, you will head south on your bike along beautiful paved cycle paths by the coast and fields, reaching Viana do Castelo, where you will spend the night. Viana do Castelo, located on the Lima river estuary, is a vibrant city full of students and a lively nightlife. Dating back to Roman times, Viana's impressive history intersects with that of merchants who supplied the ships of the Portuguese discoveries during the 16th century and later built the ships that sailed to Newfoundland for cod fishing. These merchants built the numerous stately homes, whose architectural beauty has become a hallmark of the city.

Day 4: Viana do Castelo – Vila do Conde (54 km; +/-332 m)
The third leg of the Portugal bike tour will offer a gentle ride south through vineyards and the protected coastal area of Esposende, a reserve of wild flora and fauna. The fishermen and their wives are very friendly people, and the city center is dominated by elegant manors and small stately homes. The importance of its port is not only strategic: you will discover this while enjoying a wonderful dish of sardines or other fresh fish specialties. Relax with a pleasant walk along the beach.

Day 5: Vila do Conde – Porto (36 km; +/-255 m or 49 km; +/-429 m)
Today, you will cycle to Porto, skirting the Atlantic and following cycle paths until you reach the Douro river. Cycling next to this famous river, you will arrive in one of Europe's most beautiful cities: Porto. Porto is a UNESCO heritage city, a historical gem with over 150 monuments to visit. Cross the famous Eiffel bridge and admire the Casa da Música concert hall, designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. Tonight, choosing where to dine will be challenging: Porto is famous, not only for its wine, but also for the variety and quality of its cuisine.

Day 6: Porto – Furadouro (42 km; +/-213 m)
This morning, you will cycle towards the peace and tranquility of the Atlantic Coast. Once again, a beautiful ride along the Portuguese coast awaits you, partly through a pine forest. The day ends in Furadouro, a welcoming city famous for its excellent fish. Enjoy your meal!

Day 7: Furadouro – Mira (58 km; +/-162 m)
Today's beautiful stage will take you through the Protected Natural Reserve of the São Jacinto dunes. Mira, where you will overnight, is a small fishing village. You will surely be inspired by the splendid colorful striped houses.

Day 8: Mira – Porto
After breakfast, transfer to Porto airport and end of services.
