New Year in Baroque Sicily

Day 1: Palazzolo Acreide
Individual arrival in Palazzolo Acreide, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, a real jewel declared together with seven other cities of the Val di Noto World Heritage for its Baroque architectures.
Delivery of the informative material and the bicycles (if rented).

Day 2: Palazzolo Acreide - Ragusa Ibla - Modica (50 km)
Before jumping on the saddle, we make a brief visit to the historical center of Palazzolo Acreide, where we can admire the rich historical and monumental testimonies, such as the churches of San Sebastiano and San Paolo, wonderful examples of Sicilian baroque architecture. Today we will cycle through the Ibleo territory, at times barren and wild, at times green, but always varied and of considerable beauty. The stage then goes from Ragusa Ibla, one of the most beautiful cities of the Val di Noto, located in a picturesque position on a hill and ends in Modica, the second baroque jewel of our tour. Particularly beautiful is the church of San Giorgio.

Day 3: Modica - Noto (55 km)
Before leaving Modica we must taste the famous hot pepper chocolate made according to an ancient Aztec recipe and brought to Sicily by the Spanish. We will then continue by bike through the roads of a typical Iblean countryside, between dry stone walls. We will thus reach Noto, the capital of Sicilian Baroque, with its numerous palaces and churches, scenic squares and imposing staircases that connect terraces and levels.

Day 4: Noto - Syracuse (40 km)
Today we will cross the coast northwards until we reach Syracuse, capital of Magna Graecia, with the Neapolis Archaeological Park, the Greek Theatre and the Roman Amphitheatre. We will end the evening with a walk and dinner in a typical restaurant in the picturesque historic center of Syracuse, the island of Ortigia.

Day 5: Syracuse
After breakfast, end of services.
If you have booked one or more additional nights, we recommend you take more time to visit the city: the fascinating island of Ortigia, historical and cultural center of the city, immediately shows the charm of a place that has seen the succession and the stratification of different cultures in over three thousand years of history. In Ortigia is one of the most beautiful squares in Italy, Piazza Duomo with the cathedral, the temple of Apollo and the fountain Aretusa, where the papyrus grows spontaneously.
