Description

Day 1: Constance
Individual arrival in Constance and hotel accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, if possible, take some time to visit the flower-filled paradise of the Island of Mainau, thanks to its mild climate. Also, take a stroll through the narrow streets of the old town of Constance, or visit the aquarium at the Sea Life Center and the archaeological museum.

Day 2: Constance – Ludwigshafen / Überlingen (22 or 31 miles)
The first leg of the tour will take you to the famed imperial town of Radolfzell and the wooded, hilly Bodanrück peninsula, with some short uphill sections. You will finally reach Überlingen, a place famous for its beautiful late Gothic cathedral and pleasant walk along the lake.

Day 3: Überlingen – Kressbronn / Nonnenhorn (31 or 37 miles)
From Überlingen, reach Friedrichshafen by bike, passing through the vineyards. Along the way you can visit the Baroque church of Birnau, a pilgrimage destination, and the ancient town of Meersburg. In Friedrichshafen—the birthplace of the Zeppelin—it is worth visiting the museum, particularly interesting for aviation and technology enthusiasts. Continue to Kressbronn, through extensive orchards. Overnight stay in Kressbronn or Nonnenhorn.

Day 4: Kressbronn – Höchst / Horn / Arbon (19 or 34 miles)
Today, you will head towards the Bavarian city of Lindau, located on an island and connected to the mainland by two bridges at the border between Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. You will then proceed to Bregenz, another famous tourist spot where you will be surrounded by blue: the sky, the mountains, and the lake. The city, capital of the Vorarlberg region, is also a lively cultural center, where the annual theatrical festival takes place. You will finally arrive in Höchst, in Austria.

Day 5: Höchst – Constance (19 or 34 miles)
Today's leg will take you to the region of Romanshorn, which features the most significant port on the Swiss side. You will pass through many villages with characteristic half-timbered houses before finally returning to Constance. If you haven't already done so, you can visit the Island of Mainau.

Day 6: Constance – Schaffhausen (31 miles)
Today, expect a splendid bike ride along the southern shore of the lake, through picturesque Swiss fishing villages, with typical medieval frescoed houses. Crossing the border between Germany and Switzerland multiple times, you will arrive in Stein am Rhein, literally "stone on the Rhine": the town is indeed located where the lake turns back into the Rhine River. Continue to Schaffhausen, a town that maintains a historic center with 171 bay windows: the facades of the houses are artistically painted. Also standing tall over the town is the fortress Munot, where, since 1377, a keeper ensures law and order. A visit to Schaffhausen will take you back in time.

Day 7: Schaffhausen – Rhine Falls – Constance (28 miles + boat)
Today begins with a bike ride to the Schaffhausen Falls, one of the largest in Europe. On the other side of the Rhine you will return to Stein am Rhein and continue across the Hori peninsula, to Gaienhofen, where you will take the boat to the Island of Reichenau. After a few miles, you will finally return to Constance.

Day 8: Constance
After breakfast, services end and individual departure.
