Description

Day 1: Linz
Individual arrival in Linz and hotel accommodation. Collection of the information package on your bike tour from Linz to Vienna and free time available for visiting the city. If you are traveling with children, they will certainly be happy to visit the Pöstlingberg with the Basilica, the gnome caves, which can be visited on a charming miniature train, the zoo and the panoramic terrace.

Day 2: Linz – Wallsee (40 km)
After breakfast, departure by bike towards Mitterkirchen. The first stop of the day will be at the Celtic village, an exciting open-air museum, where about 20 houses and a accessible cave reproduce the living environment of the Hallstatt period, the Late Bronze Age between 800 and 450 BC. The museum was constructed based on knowledge gained from archaeological excavations in the Lehen village district, strictly respecting contemporary structural engineering techniques.

Day 3: Wallsee – Marbach/surroundings (40 km)
The bike route will take you to the picturesque Baroque town of Grein, home to Austria's oldest theater, and where it will be possible to visit Greinburg Castle, positioned high above and overlooking the Danube. The castle, of medieval origin, is striking for its impressive reception and ballrooms. Also very interesting is the Maritime Museum of Upper Austria, which covers navigation on the Danube and provides information on the Ulmer Schachteln and Waidzillen, ancient and typical transport boats. If you like ice cream we highly recommend a stop at Schörgis ice cream shop. After biking past Persenbeug, you will reach the final destination of the stage. If the weather is good, we recommend visiting the water sports paradise of Ardagger.

Day 4: Marbach/surroundings – Wachau Valley (50 km)
A few kilometers beyond Marbach and Pöchlarn, you enter the Wachau Valley, known all over the world. From afar, you can see the majestic Benedictine monastery of Melk, before continuing through the vineyards to Spitz, located at the foot of Mount Eimer (1,000 m above sea level). This stretch of the Danube also features numerous castles overlooking the river, some small, others more majestic, of medieval or more recent origin, each with its own story.

Day 5: Free Day in the Wachau Valley
Today you can spend a pleasant day in the lovely hotel garden, while your children have fun in the playground. We also recommend visiting one of the local wineries, where you can observe the winemakers at work.

Day 6: Wachau Valley – Tulln (20 km boat + 40 km)
This morning you can relax and then, around lunchtime, set off for a cruise from Spitz to Krems surrounded by hills rich in vineyards that line both sides of the Danube. From Krems, you continue by bike to today's destination, Tulln. The afternoon will therefore be entirely dedicated to biking this stage.

Day 7: Tulln – Vienna (35 km)
Last stage of your bike tour from Linz to Vienna. Just a short distance left to the great Danube metropolis, where many places to visit await you. It is very pleasant to cycle through the city center and, if you love the myth of Princess Sissi, you cannot fail to visit the Hofburg, which preserves her private rooms, or Schönbrunn Castle. Don't forget to spend an hour at the “Prater” amusement park with a ride on the giant Ferris wheel.

Day 8: Vienna
After breakfast, return by train to Linz and end of services.
