Description

Day 1: Saint-Louis or Basel
Welcome to Saint-Louis. Check into your hotel and take your time to explore the city at your own pace. With the tram, you can reach Barfüsserplatz in the center of Basel or continue to Weil am Rhein on the German side. You can also explore three different countries, all within easy reach by public transport and without having to travel long distances.

Day 2: Saint-Louis/Basel – Rheinfelden – Saint-Louis/Basel (40 or 60 km)
Today, leave Saint Louis and cross the three countries. First along the Rhine, pedal up to Weil am Rhein, with its Vitra Design Museum and Lörrach - a city of culture, shopping, voices and sculptures, and home to purple chocolate. After 35 km, you will arrive in Switzerland by bike, in the city of Rheinfelden, where you can discover the hidden gems that the old town has to offer. Enjoy a cruise on the Rhine to get back to Basel or continue by bike until Augst, where you can visit the Roman city of Augusta Raurica.

Day 3: Mulhouse – Saint-Louis/Basel (70 km)
This day starts with a train transfer from Saint-Louis to Mulhouse. You will make a culinary journey through the land of the carp. The bicycle path will take you along the Rhine-Rhône Canal, on the Eurovélo 6, up to Illfurth. You will then cross small villages such as Carspach and Hirtzbach, in the quiet region of Sundgau - a paradise for cyclists who want to explore this typical Alsatian region, away from mass tourism and combining nature and culture. The typical half-timbered houses, fountains and Wilhelmian architecture reminds of the old and stormy history of Sundgau.

Day 4: Circular tour of canals and forests (70 km)
Today, cross two countries and pedal along four different waterways. In the nature reserve of Little Camargue, you can relax watching the waterfowl along the Rhine. Continue along two locks up to Niffer and Ottmarsheim. From there, you will find the Abbey Church of Saints Peter and Paul, a replica of Aachen's Palatine Chapel. Continue on paved forest roads, through the Hardt forest and along the Rhône au Rhin and Huningue canals, up to the Kembs marina. Continue along the canal, up to the first dam of the Grand Canal d’Alsace and on the Rhine island until reaching Weil am Rhein, then head to Saint-Louis or Basel.

Day 5: Circular tour from Bad Bellingen or Müllheim (60 or 70 km)
Today, ride from your hotel to the Weil am Rhein train station. There you can buy train tickets to go to Bad Bellingen or Müllheim. From Bad Bellingen you will pass through idyllic villages where Schliengen and Auggen wines are produced, and arrive in Müllheim. Continue to Badenweiler and the ruins of the Roman bath in Bad Krozingen, and, again, through vineyards and small wine villages. In Bad Krozingen you can admire many historical treasures, such as the Glöcklehof and the castle of Bad Krozinger. The route will take you back to Bad Bellingen along the Rhine. At the end of the bike tour, you can visit the thermal baths museum of Bad Bellingen or take a refreshing dip in the healing thermal baths. Return from Bad Bellingen by train.

Day 6: Circular tour in the Markgräflerland region (45 or 60 km)
From Saint-Louis or Basel, cross the Rhine and bike to Haltingen. From there, continue through beautiful villages and vibrant landscapes, either by bike or with the Kander Valley Railway to the city of ceramics of Kandern. Reach the church of Efringen then take a break in the Markgräflerland wine cellar. Continue on a well-maintained dirt road, marked as a bike path, and go back up the Rhine to Saint-Louis or Basel.

Day 7: Basel
After breakfast, services end.
Departure or extension of the stay.
