Swimming pool, soccer, basketball or football? What if it's actually the bicycle? For some strange reason, biking is often viewed as exclusively a spring or summer activity. Yet one can ride a bike in winter too! Yes, even children, even young ones who don't yet know how to pedal. Just dress appropriately, with technical garments and a nice pair of gloves. Then, what's the problem? The only real hitch for those who want to practice cycling as a sport from the start is that it requires long distances, spaces to cover, and a certain autonomy in pedaling. However, from a young age, we can start nurturing this passion together with our parents, in daily life, trying to truly discover the joy of cycling and how good it is, especially for our physical health.

Scientifically proven how much well-being pedaling brings. Primarily, it's an activity that doesn't strain the joints, very delicate during growth. Not only that. By moving, it strengthens the immune and cardiovascular system and over time develops a better respiratory capacity. The alternation of flat, uphill, and downhill is excellent training. And especially in this way, children get in touch with the world of resilience, a quality that every experienced cyclist knows very well: never give up, not even in the hardest moments and always see the positive side, in any situation.
Physical exertion, which the bike encourages, helps the child to have a better understanding of himself, his abilities, creating a sense of responsibility and self-esteem given by increased independence. In short, they grow better. In other words, two simple wheels can contribute to creating a more sustainable lifestyle in addition to developing greater agility, a sense of balance and distances in the child, which they would otherwise find hard to acquire.
But when is it good to start pedaling? As we have already explained in the article on how to teach children to ride a bike in 7 steps, any age is right. However, once the two years are exceeded, it is already possible to propose to the children the balance bike, now a very coveted toy. In this way, they can start training their sense of balance, trying out speed and getting to know what it's like to move independently. The next step is the bike with training wheels. But before removing them, it will take some time. At this stage be patient: the future cyclist will first have to perfect the steering, the braking, the relationship with vehicles and pedestrians. Once everything is learned he will be the one to tell you to remove them completely. For his safety never forget the helmet though!
Now that you know all the benefits of cycling from a young age, how about sharing a green adventure with the whole family?
