Description

Day 1: Villach
Arrive individually at the starting hotel in Villach. Parking is available near the hotel.

Day 2: Villach – Lake Millstatt – Millstatt/Seeboden (30 km)
At the start of the stage, you will take the train to Lendorf, near Spittal an der Drau; from here, on secondary roads, you will reach Lake Millstatt, which is entirely surrounded by a cycle path. You will discover the intact southern shore, enjoying a magnificent view of the surroundings. You will then cycle on the northern shore, at times directly along the lake, in the direction of the most important city, Millstatt am See, characterized by the Habsburg villas built between 1875 and 1910 and the Benedictine convent of the eleventh century, with the famous fresco of the Last Judgement. Here is also the oldest diving board from Carinthia, built in 1930.

Day 3: Millstatt/Seeboden – Lake Weissensee – Hermagor/Tröpolach/Lake Presseggersee (30 km)
In the morning transfer to Lake Weissensee where you will have time to enjoy the magnificent natural panorama on the lake, go for a boat trip (ticket not included), a short walk or a swim. After a short initial climb, you will then cycle downhill in the fairytale and untouched Gitschtal valley, until you reach the destination of the day.

Day 4: Hermagor/Tröpolach/Lake Presseggersee – Gailtal – Lake Faakersee (55 or 60 km)
Today's stage will have you cycling downhill through one of the most beautiful natural landscapes to discover on bike: the pristine Gailtal valley. You will soon meet Lake Praseggersee which, like all Karnten lakes, is swimable thanks to the mild temperature of its waters. Before Villach you will discover the wild beauty of the Schütt reserve, born 650 years ago following a terrifying landslide detached from Mount Dobratsch that gave rise to a unique landscape. You will then follow the course of the Gail which at this point is wide and shallow, chosen by many nature lovers for a rejuvenating bath. The cycle path continues in the direction of Lake Faakersee, the emerald among the lakes of the region, not very large but warm and with turquoise waters like those of the Caribbean.

Day 5: Lake Faakersee – Lake Wörthersee – Klagenfurt (40 km)
In the morning you leave from Lake Faakersee and cycle for a short stretch along the Drava River towards Lake Wörthersee. Before Velden am Wörthersee, you turn into the idyllic Keutschacher Seental, parallel to Lake Wörthersee, which boasts several charming small lakes arranged like a string of pearls along the route. The destination of this stage is Klagenfurt, the capital of the region. The old town still preserves many Renaissance buildings and is characterized by a southern atmosphere. Small bars and shops complete the environment. For culture lovers, a visit to the Museum of Modern Art is recommended, while for history enthusiasts, a visit to the redesigned Museum of Carinthia is suggested. If you prefer to enjoy a view of the city, you can admire the view from the top of the city's parish church.

Day 6: Wörthersee/Klagenfurt – Lake Klopeinersee – Wörthersee/Klagenfurt
(50 or 65 km)

The short tour to Lake Klopeinersee will lead you directly from Klagenfurt to southern Carinthia, then return along the same route. The circular tour is a bit longer but rewarding. In the morning, you cycle southwards, after the impressive church of Maria Rain, a place of pilgrimage, the route descends near Ferlach power station to the Drava cycle path. You continue up to Tainach, where the tour continues from Stein im Jauntal to
Lake Klopeinersee. Lake Klopeiner See is one of the smallest lakes, but it is considered one of the warmest in Europe. Subsequently, you return, cycling along the man-made lake Völkermarkt and then along a railway accompaniment path on a direct route to Klagenfurt.

Day 7: Klagenfurt – Villach (40 km)
The first stretch today takes you along the northern shore of Lake Wörthersee. Then you will return along the Drava cycle path, skirting Lake Silbersee towards Villach, the starting point of the tour, where your route will conclude.

Day 8: Villach
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure.
