Trulli and Salento Bike & Beach

Day 1: Monopoli
Meeting in Monopoli after 5pm, for bike handover and briefing on your cycling holiday.

Day 2: Monopoli - Martina Franca (50 km)
From Monopoli we will venture inland to reach the pristine towns of the Itria Valley, dotted with characteristic trulli. We will pass through Alberobello and then reach Locorotondo and Martina Franca, near which we will stop at a beautiful masseria.

Day 3: Martina Franca - Manduria (55 km)
From Martina Franca we head, cycling through the olive groves of the interior, towards Grottaglie, famous for its ceramics. We will finally arrive at Manduria, land of the Messapi and Primitivo wine.

Day 4: Manduria - Gallipoli (76 km)
From Manduria we directly head towards the Ionian coast, through groves of holm oaks, enveloped by the scent of thyme and rosemary. The beaches we will touch will be among the most beautiful in Salento: Punta Prosciutto and Porto Selvaggio above all. Stage end at the Rotonda sul Mare, the particular fortified island of Gallipoli that for centuries has defended itself from external attacks and which today represents one of the most characteristic villages in the area.

Day 5: Gallipoli - Santa Maria di Leuca (62 km)
From Gallipoli, passing through the beautiful white beaches of the Ionian coast with waters going from turquoise to emerald green, we will reach the Finibus Terrae of Santa Maria di Leuca, the last outpost of the West towards new and distant worlds. Our hotel is by the sea.

Day 6: Santa Maria di Leuca - Otranto (62 km)
After rounding the cape of Santa Maria di Leuca on the most beautiful and challenging stage on the balcony of the Mediterranean, we will find ourselves on the Adriatic crossing the Ciolo canyon, the Grotta di Zinzulusa and Porto Badisco, until we reach, through countless coves with crystal clear water, the magnificent Otranto, a city to explore.

Day 7: Otranto - Lecce (60 km)
From Otranto, cycling again along the coast, passing by Torre dell'Orso, Baia dei Turchi and the Grotta della Poesia, we will reach the Parco delle Cesine, from where we will move inland for the last stretch of bike that separates us from Lecce. In the afternoon we will have time to explore the evocative city center of Lecce, where our adventure ends.

Day 8: Lecce
In the morning, or at leisure, you can consider returning by train, or staying a few more days in this beautiful land that has so much to offer to visitors.
