Description

Day 1: Villabassa/Dobbiaco
Individual arrival in Alta Pusteria to the first hotel. Free public parking, unattended near the hotel.

Day 2: Villabassa/Dobbiaco - San Silvestro Hut - Markinkele – Villabassa/Dobbiaco (22 km; +/700 m or 45 km; +/-1475 m)
From Villabassa/Dobbiaco, a paved route will lead you to the small and enchanting church of San Silvestro, a hidden jewel among the mountains. From here, through a historic military route stretching to Markinkele, also known as "Border Horn". Here, you can enjoy a well-deserved break at the renovated and welcoming Markinkelerhütte refuge. The return to Villabassa offers the same breathtaking view from a new perspective. For those looking for a lighter option, the simple excursion to the San Silvestro Hut offers a delightful refuge where you can refresh and relax.

Day 3: Villabassa/Dobbiaco – Kronplatz – San Vigilio (45 km; +/-220 m or 55 km; +/-1490 m)

A path that winds through the Val Pusteria cycle path, with a climb that will test your tenacity, but that will reward you with breathtaking views. The Kronplatz, at 2,275 meters, is a summer paradise for families, hikers and cyclists. Here, between the sky and the earth, is the "Concordia 2000" peace bell and the impressive Messner Mountain Museum. The most experienced can descend the valley on various downhill and freeride routes, while the chairlift offers a quieter alternative to enjoy the same spectacular views (ticket not included).

Day 4: San Vigilio – Senes/Fodara Vedla or Fanes Refuge – Ra Stua – Cortina (35 km; +/-950 m or 40 km; +/-1200 m)

After leaving San Vigilio, the road will take you towards Pederü, pedaling through military roads, you will reach the Fodara Vedla and Senes refuges. Here, the view opens up to some of the most beautiful peaks in the Dolomites: Hohe Gaisl (3,146m), Cristallo (3,221m), Sorapis (3,205m) and Tofane (3,243m). Pedaling through meadows and mugo pine woods, you will then cross the historic Fanes Valley to reach the iconic Cortina, a city rich in Olympic history and mountain tradition. Alternatively, you can reach Cortina d'Ampezzo by passing through the Senes refuge.

Day 5: Cortina – 5 Torri Refuge – Cortina (35 km; +/-900 m or 55 km; +/-1800 m)

Today's day will take you on a short panoramic tour of the Dolomiti d‘Ampezzo. From Cortina you climb up to Col Rosa and then to the Cinque Torri Refuge. On your right you can admire the Cinque Torri (2,361 m), made up of five steep towers that once formed a large boulder. In front of you, you can admire one of the 3 highest peaks in the Dolomites: Mount Pelmo (3,168 m). With its immense dimensions, it was one of the first great peaks of the Dolomites to be climbed by man. Later you return to Cortina. In the simpler variant, take the Col Drusciè cable car from Cortina. You can shorten the climb to Cinque Torri with the chairlift (tickets not included).

Day 6: Cortina d'Ampezzo – Son Forca – Cimabanche – Prato Piazza (25 km; +/-870 m or 40 km; +/-1600 m)

From Cortina, the route will take you through Rio Gere and Son Forca to Cimabanche, to then climb up to the famous Prato Piazza plateau. Here, the view opens up to a postcard panorama with Dürrenstein and Hohe Gaisl. The quietness of the place will offer a moment of absolute peace, with distant profiles of Monte Cristallo, Tofane and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo that complete this natural painting. Alternatively, you will cycle along the cycle path to Cimabanche and Prato Piazza.

Day 7: Prato Piazza – Villabassa/Dobbiaco (25 km; +/-870 m or 40 km; +/-750 m)
The return journey will start with a descent from Prato Piazza to the Braies Valley, famous for its coniferous forests and the serenity it offers. One last look at Monte Specie from the Vallandro Refuge will leave you with indelible memories of the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo. The simpler variant will allow you to enjoy these same panoramas with less effort, cycling directly from Prato Piazza to Dobbiaco/Villabassa.

Day 8: Villabassa/Dobbiaco
Breakfast is followed by end of services and individual departure. Possibility to extend the stay.
