The Way of the True Cross and the Warm Coast

Day 1: Murcia
Arrival in Murcia, capital of the homonymous region and hotel check-in. A mountain range surrounds the plain where Murcia is located, a city of Arab origin whose development is closely tied to the fertile fields of the Segura river, where fruits, vegetables, flowers, and lush vineyards grow. Among the historic streets of the old corporations, the Cathedral tower stands out, one of the symbols of the city, but do not miss a visit to the bizarre building of the casino. Murcia is an excellent base for this tour of the Camino de la Vera Cruz: here you can taste the typical local culinary specialties, enjoy a walk through the alleys animated by nightlife and, in just 1 hour by bus, if you wish, reach the sea.

Day 2: Murcia – Mula (54 km)
This first day by bike will take you to Mula, traveling a stretch of via verde, typical routes scattered throughout Spain, corresponding to our old railway lines converted into cycling and pedestrian paths; the landscape you will encounter will change: leaving Murcia, you will be surrounded by fields of orchids; then, following the Segura river and along the Green Way, you will cross historical sites and desert areas between Molina de Segura and Albudeite. Once in Mula, you will be again surrounded by expanses of orange, peach, and apricot trees.

Day 3: Mula – Bullas – Caravaca (40 km)
Today's stage will initially take you to Bullas, following the most interesting part of the Via Verde del Nord Est, the Camino de la Vera Cruz. Through fields, pine forests, and former galleries of the old railway line, you will gradually enter the mountainous area of the northwest county of the Murcia region. In Cehegin, it is worth tackling the climb to reach the renowned neighborhood; you will then resume the Camino de la Vera Cruz and, crossing the natural area of Las Fuentes del Marqués, you will arrive at the medieval city of Caravaca and its Sanctuary. Possibility to extend the stage by 16 km, with a circular tour of the Argos river valley.

Day 4: circular tour Caravaca – La Encarnación (49 km)
After breakfast awaits an interesting loop in this beautiful natural area, to discover the villages of Archivel, Barranda and La Encarnación, rich in archaeological sites and intact testimonies of the various civilizations that over the centuries, have lived in this region. You will encounter Roman and Christian sanctuaries and unique squares, where traces of different civilizations coexist. Return to Caravaca.

Day 5: Transfer from Caravaca to San Pedro del Pinatar
After breakfast, a private minibus transfer of about 1h and 45, will take you to the coast. Free afternoon to enjoy the beaches and the beautiful sea: San Pedro, bathed by the calm waters of the Mar Menor, is one of the main tourist destinations on the Murcia coast.

Day 6: circular tour San Pedro del Pinatar – La Manga (55 km)
After breakfast, depart by bike for a complete tour around the largest coastal lagoon in Southern Europe, El Mar Menor. You will encounter magnificent views, coastal towns, and sandy beaches. From the village of Santiago de la Ribera you will cross the lagoon by boat (about 1 hour) to the Tomas Maestre port, reaching the Manga del Mar Menor, the long sandbar that separates the lagoon from the Mediterranean Sea. The second part of the stage will cross the natural areas of Salinas de Marchamalo and Salinas de lo Poyo, with rich and rare vegetation and a great variety of coastal birds. Return to the hotel.

Day 7: San Pedro del Pinatar
After breakfast, end of services.
