Description

Day 1: Bordeaux
Arrive at the train station or airport in Bordeaux and transfer by taxi to Pauillac. Receive the bikes, get informed about the area and the roadbook, which will guide you through your journey.

Day 2: Pauillac - Margaux (45 km)
You will leave Pauillac, home to three of the top five Grands Crus Classés and 15 Classés Médoc Crus, to head towards Margaux. Pedal among beautiful architectures and vast vineyards, going through: Lafite Rothschild, Latour, and Mouton Rothschild, Château Pichon Longueville, Pontet Canet, and Lynch Bages. Once past Saint Julien, you will reach the charming village of Margaux. Stop in front of the entrance to Château Margaux and admire the classic facade of the building.

Day 3: Margaux - Bourg (45 km)
This route will take you to Lamarque, where you will board for a crossing of the Gironde estuary. You will reach the magnificent citadel of Blaye, before continuing your journey on the estuary banks. Impressive and majestic, the citadel dominates the estuary with its 33 hectares, offering a stunning view. You will pass through the vineyards of the Côtes de Blaye AOC, Bordeaux, and Bordeaux Supérieur. Finally, pedal towards Bourg-sur-Gironde, along the Corniche Fleurie, where the presence of numerous palm trees, roses, laurels, and oaks reflects an extremely mild climate. A visit is a must as Bourg-sur-Gironde is a true architectural gem. Clinging to a rock and surrounded by walls, the village is one of the prettiest and best-preserved of the estuary.

Day 4: Bourg - Saint-Émilion (40 or 50 km)
On the way to the vineyards of Saint-Émilion, you will cross two others: Fronsac and Pomerol. Pomerol, a neighbor of Saint-Emilion, is located on a small plateau north of Libourne. Pomerol wines are among the most appreciated in France, such as the famous Petrus. This itinerary will lead you to discover the best wines of Pomerol and Saint-Émilion, near Château Angélus, Château Petrus, Château Cheval Blanc. Moving on to Fronsac: this vineyard is historic, and its wine was on the table of King Louis XIV! On the banks of the Dordogne, the great terroirs of Saint-Émilion, Pomerol, and Fronsac unite a splendid landscape of hills and plateaus, forming a beautiful mosaic of plots, where the vine extends infinitely. In this tour, you will discover stunning domains, surrounded by vineyards and inhabited by cultivators and their families.

Day 5: Saint-Émilion (20 or 35 km)
Today, pedaling between architecture and wine, you will discover the delightful medieval village located in the heart of the famous Bordeaux vineyards: Saint-Emilion. You will then reach Castillon-la-Bataille and return to the bank of the Dordogne river.

Day 6: Saint-Émilion – Bordeaux (50 km)
After passing Branne on the Dordogne river, you will reach the cycle path Roger Lapébie and enjoy a wonderful bike route in the heart of natural landscapes, equipped with several rest areas. You will thus reach Créon, a typical Bastide village of the region. You will cross the rich architectural heritage of the region made up of medieval towns, farms, fortified mills, abbeys, and Romanesque churches. This track will take you to the majestic Place de la Bourse, in the heart of Bordeaux and you will have a panoramic view of the docks, the Garonne, and the stone bridge.

Day 7: Bordeaux
After breakfast, transfer to the station or airport and end of services.
