Description

Day 1: Bordeaux
Arrival at the train station or at the airport in Bordeaux and taxi transfer to Pauillac. Delivery of the bikes, information about the area and road book, which will indicate your circuit.

Day 2: Pauillac – Margaux (45 km)
You will leave Pauillac, home to three of the top five Grands Crus Classés and 15 Médoc Classés Crus, to head towards Margaux. You will cycle amidst splendid architecture and vast vineyards, and go through: Lafite Rothschild, Latour and Mouton Rothschild, Château Pichon Longueville, Pontet Canet and Lynch Bages. Once you've passed Saint Julien, you will arrive at the charming village of Margaux. Stop in front of the entrance of Château Margaux and admire the classic façade of the building.

Day 3: Margaux – Bourg (45 km)
This route will take you to Lamarque, where you will embark for a crossing of the Gironde estuary. You will reach the magnificent citadel of Blaye, before continuing your journey along the estuary banks. Impressive and majestic, the citadel dominates the estuary with its 33 hectares and offers a splendid view. You will cross the vineyards of the Côtes de Blaye AOC, Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur. Finally, you will cycle towards Bourg-sur-Gironde, along the Corniche Fleurie, where the presence of numerous palm trees, roses, laurels, and oaks reflects an extremely mild climate. A visit is a must because Bourg-sur-Gironde is a real architectural gem. Clinging to a rock and surrounded by walls, the village is one of the most beautiful and best preserved in the estuary.

Day 4: Bourg – Saint-Émilion (40 or 50 km)
On the way to get to the vineyards of Saint-Émilion you will cross two others: Fronsac and Pomerol. Pomerol, neighbor of Saint-Emilion, is located on a small plateau north of Libourne. The wines of Pomerol are among the most appreciated in France, like the famous Petrus. This itinerary will indeed lead you to discover the best wines of Pomerol and Saint-Émilion, near Château Angélus, Château Petrus, Château Cheval Blanc. Then we move on to Fronsac: this vineyard is historical and its wine was on the table of King Louis XIV! On the banks of the Dordogne, amid the grand terroir of Saint-Émilion, Pomerol and Fronsac, a wonderfully hilly landscape dominates, forming a beautiful mosaic of plots, where the vine grows into infinity. In this tour, you will discover beautiful domains, surrounded by vineyards and inhabited by growers and their families.

Day 5: Saint-Émilion – Bordeaux (50 km)
After going past Branne on the Dordogne River, you will reach the Roger Lapébie bicycle path and enjoy a wonderful bike ride in the heart of natural landscapes, set up with various rest stops. You will then reach Créon, a typical Bastide village of the region. You'll go through the rich architectural heritage of the region made of medieval towns, farmhouses, fortified mills, abbeys and Romanesque churches. This path will lead you to the majestic Place de la Bourse, in the heart of Bordeaux and you will have a view of the docks, the Garonne and the stone bridge.

Day 6: Bordeaux
After breakfast, transfer to the train station or airport and end of services.
