Description

Day 1: Krimml
Individual arrival in Krimml, hotel accommodation and delivery of bicycles (if booked). From afar, you can spot the wonderful Krimml waterfalls: make sure to visit the biggest waterfalls in Europe! Water crashes down for about 400 m. Walk along the path and admire this natural spectacle with the family.

Day 2: Krimml – Mittersill/Stuhlfelden (35 km)
Start your family tour by bike on the Tauern Cycle Path with a gorgeous view of the Großvenediger mountain, covered in snow even during the summer months. As you pass Obersulzbachtal valley, you will soon reach your day’s destination. In Mittersill, spend some time at the Nationparkwelten museum.

Day 3: Mittersill/Stuhlfelden – Kaprun/Zell am See (25 km)
Cross the High Tauern National Park and the Oberpinzgau region. Lush green meadows and tiny villages will backdrop your journey today on the Tauern Cycle Path - in a landscape that resembles fairytales. In Kaprun, you can visit the dams of Hochgebirgsstauseen high mountain artificial lakes with the children.

Day 4: Kaprun/Zell am See – Saalfelden (30 km)
The crystal-clear Zell Lake is very close by and invites the sportier cyclists to extend the stage for a refreshing dip and loads of family fun. Cycle to Maria Alm and visit the famous church for pilgrims. Finally, reach Saalfelden and its tranquil pastures.

Day 5: Saalfelden – Unken (35 km)
On the way to Unken, you’ll immerse in the untouched nature of the Tauern Cycle Path. You can admire the Steinernes Meer, completely surrounded by steeply rising mountains, in a setting that looks like Tolkien’s Middle Earth fantasy universe. Visit the Lamprechtshöhlen caves and the Seisenbergklamm waterfalls in Weißbach, near Lofer. A short distance later, you will arrive in Unken.

Day 7: Unken – Salzburg (40 km)
Today, you will pass through Saalachtal valley. Beyond the border, Bad Reichenhall will enchant you with its typical Bavarian style. You will have time for a stroll in the charming city or to relax in the thermal waters of Rupertus Spa Sure. A short distance later, you will reach Salzburg, Mozart’s city, welcoming you with its rich culture. Enjoy a stroll through the streets and visit Mozart’s birthplace to perfectly conclude your family tour on the Tauern Cycle Path.

Day 8: Salzburg
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure. Possibility to extend the stay.
