Description

Day 1: Freiburg
Individual arrival in Freiburg and hotel check-in. Dedicate some time to explore this wonderful city. Let yourself be charmed by Freiburg, visit its gothic cathedral, stroll among the small streets and canals, or watch the sunset from the top of Schlossberg over the city rooftops and enjoy a splendid panorama of the Vosges mountains.

Day 2: Freiburg – Colmar (60 km)
Today you will follow the Breisgau-Radweg cycle path. You will head towards the town of Breisach, situated on the banks of the Rhine. Here you can visit the magnificent St. Stephen's cathedral, its charming city centre and its picturesque alleyways. Later you will arrive at Neuf-Brisach, a small French town mainly known for its octagonal fortification designed by Vauban, deemed a UNESCO world heritage in 2008. Continue biking to reach Colmar, today's final destination, where you can indulge in a thorough visit of this enchanting city, the Alsatian city of art. We recommend taking a walk in its historical centre and visiting Musée d’Unterlinden hosting the famous Issenheim Altarpiece, a masterpiece of western art.

Day 3: Colmar – Guebwiller (35 or 45 km)
From Colmar, follow the French Wine Route, biking through Alsace. Dreamy winemaking villages, with typical Alsatian timber-frame houses and magnificent medieval city centres, nestled in charming vineyards, are perfect for relaxing and unwinding. You will reach Guebwiller, a winemaking village at the foot of the Grand Ballon. As you continue to pedal, you will encounter the Murbach Abbey, a famous Benedictine monastery in the Vosges.

Day 4: Guebwiller – Mulhouse  (35 or 50 km)
From Guebwiller, ride towards Ungersheim, up to the Alsace Ecomuseum. From there, the cycle path will lead you straight to Mulhouse. The city offers a museum with the largest car collection in the world, the Cité du Train, one of the main railway museums in Europe, and also the Electropolis Museum, which will charm everyone, not only enthusiasts.

Day 5: Mulhouse – Basel (55 km)
A cycle path will lead you along the Rhône-Rhine Canal on EuroVelo 6, up to Illfurth. Then you will pass through small Alsace villages, in the Sundgau area, up to Basel. The large Market Square, its sandstone town hall richly decorated and the late roman and gothic style cathedral are the historical symbols of the city. With about 40 museums, it’s the city with the highest museum density in the country, famous worldwide.

Day 6: Basel – Müllheim (45 km)
The Rhine is ideal for cycling and you will discover it today. The destination is Müllheim, in the Markgräflerland region.

Day 7: Müllheim – Freiburg (35 km)
After a visit to Villa Urbana museum and Heitersheim’s Malteserschloss, you will head towards Breisgau. In the treasure chest of Bad Krozingen, await mineral and thermal springs, not to be missed before evening arrives. You will then reach Freiburg, the gateway to the Black Forest.

Day 8: Freiburg
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure.
