Description

Day 1: Rothenburg ob der Tauber
The journey begins in this enchanting town, a picturesque small city that attracts visitors from all over the world, considered the embodiment of the spirit of German romanticism. Explore the medieval palaces in the historic center, where you will also find the Church of St. James, home to the famous wooden altar by sculptor Tilman Riemenschneider.

Day 2: Rothenburg ob der Tauber – Dinkelsbühl (60 km)
This first cycling stage of your trip will take you to the Bavarian town of Schillingsfürst. From a distance, you will spot the baroque castle dominating the town, situated on a small hill. The final destination of the day is Dinkelsbühl, located in the Wörnitz valley. Let yourself be enchanted by the historic center surrounded by colorful houses and in the evening treat yourself to Franconian culinary specialties in a traditional tavern.

Day 3: Dinkelsbühl – Nördlingen (40 km)
Today you will cycle through an area of great geological interest: the Nördlingen Crater, created by a meteorite or asteroid impact 15 million years ago. At its center lies the beautiful city of Nördlingen, today's final destination. A former Free Imperial City, Nördlingen boasts the only completely preserved walls in Germany. Don't miss the splendid view from Daniel, the bell tower of St. George's Church, and the Tanners' Quarter, preserved almost in its original state. For geology enthusiasts, the Rieskrater-Museum, housed in a 1500s wooden granary, is a must-visit.

Day 4: Nördlingen – Donauwörth (40 km)
Passing through the picturesque Harburg, whose fortress towers over the town, you will proceed towards Donauwörth, situated at the exact point where the Wörnitz River joins the Danube. The Reichsstraße, the main street of the city, is considered one of the most beautiful in Germany. Also, don't miss the Rathaus, the Town Hall dating back to the 1200s, where every day between 11 and 16 a carillon plays a piece from the opera The Magic Violin by local composer Werner Egk; the Café Engel, originally an inn from the late 1200s, and the Käthe Kruse Puppet Museum, dedicated to the world of dolls and housed in a former Capuchin monastery.

Day 5: Donauwörth
After breakfast, end of services.
Individual departure or extension of stay.
