Description

Day 1: Trier
Trier, known as Treviri in Italian, is considered the oldest city in Germany, with Roman monuments present everywhere. Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed at your hotel, located near the majestic Roman monuments that tell the city's millennia-old story. You will also find the bikes (if rented) at the hotel that will accompany you on this journey.

Day 2: Trier – Trittenheim (40 km)
Before leaving Trier, we recommend a dive into the city's Roman past with a possible visit to the amphitheater and the Porta Nigra, dating back to the 2nd century AD. After departing on your bikes along the Moselle, you will encounter a thematic route dedicated to the region’s vineyards. Today's stage ends in Trittenheim, a picturesque town on the banks of the Moselle River surrounded by lush vineyards and green hills. A glass of wine in this town could be the perfect conclusion to your first bike stage.

Day 3: Trittenheim – Zeltingen (35 km)
Today you will cross Piesport, a charming village located on the banks of the Moselle River, famous for its long wine tradition and its ancient Roman cellars. Carved into the rock, these cellars testify to the importance of viticulture in the region’s history and highlight the Romans' skill in cultivating and preserving wine. As you continue pedaling, you will encounter the twin cities of Bernkastel and Kues, some of the most charming in the Middle Moselle region. Be seduced by the old town streets, the fairy-tale half-timbered houses, and a glass of Bernkasteler Doctor, the renowned local wine. A short bike ride then takes you to charming Zeltingen, the final destination of the day.

Day 4: Zeltingen – Zell (35 km)
The Moselle vineyards will continue to be your backdrop in today's stage. As you cycle through the suggestive vineyards of the renowned Kroever Nacktarsch wine region, heading towards Traben-Trarbach, let yourself be enchanted by the art nouveau and Belle Époque architectural masterpieces that elegantly stand out in the landscape. These fascinating buildings reflect the rich artistic heritage of the era, characterized by numerous decorative details, fluid lines, and timeless elegance. Following the course of the river, you will reach the Zeller Schwarze Katz wine area, known for its eponymous white wine, with the legendary label featuring a scruffy black cat on a barrel trying to scare anyone who approaches. A few more pedals and you will reach Zell, the final destination of the day.

Day 5: Zell – Treis-Karden (50 km)
After leaving Zell behind, you will soon arrive at the beautiful village of Beilstein, often compared to fairy-tale villages along the Romantic Road, and then to Cochem, one of Germany's most beautiful villages. The fascinating old town and the castle, which has towered over the village and the Moselle since the 11th century, is well worth a visit. A few more pedals and Treis-Karden, the final destination of the day, is within reach, where you can also savor your palate with a wine tasting.

Day 6: Treis-Karden – Koblenz (40 km)
Today, a slight detour of a few kilometers will take you to Burg Eltz, a wonderful castle that has remained intact over centuries, much like those in fairy tales. It is one of the best-preserved sites in Germany. You will see it towering out of the lush nature that surrounds it, and once past the bridge, there are magnificent views to be enjoyed. Back on the Moselle cycle path, you will cross several wine villages before reaching the city of Koblenz, located at the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine rivers. Take the opportunity to stroll through the old town, enjoying the picturesque views this famous city has to offer, and relax on one of the city center's café terraces.

Day 7: Koblenz
If you think an afternoon in Koblenz is not enough, don't hesitate to ask us to book you a few more nights: there's so much to discover in the city! However, if you wish to return to the starting point of the tour, when booking the trip, you can request a convenient private transfer departing at 9.00 AM, which will take you directly back to Trier from your hotel in Koblenz.
