Day 1: Lienz

Individual arrival in Lienz and luggage accommodation at the hotel. Located in the heart of Eastern Tyrol and at the confluence of the Isel and Drava rivers, this region boasts the title of being the sunniest holiday area in Austria with two thousand hours of sunshine per year. The breathtaking panorama that opens onto the Alps and the Dolomites of Lienz will give you a first taste of the enchantment that this trip promises.

Day 2: Lienz – San Candido – Lienz (45 km) + train

The day begins with a comfortable train journey from Lienz to San Candido, which will immerse you in the warmth of the Alpine valleys. Here, the young Drava river winds burbling through the Puster Valley. Majestic fortresses, castles and palaces tower over the valley, telling stories of wealth and power from yesteryears. Along the route, modest Romanesque chapels, Gothic and Baroque churches, enriched with crucifixes and votive columns, invite you to brief stops. The imposing presence of the Lienz Dolomites dominates the landscape, making this stage an unforgettable memory.

Day 3: Lienz – Berg (35 km)

Starting from Lienz, where the Isel and Drava rivers join, you will once again follow the course of the Drava. The latter presents itself in a shade of gray, nicknamed "glacial milk" by locals, due to the microscopic particles of rock that come from the imposing surrounding mountains. The route will guide you along ancient Roman trade routes, passing through ruins, castles, small churches, and crosses at the roadside, offering you a unique perspective on the history that pervades these lands. The discovery continues in the picturesque valley of Oberdrautal, with its charming villages, where every turn unveils new wonders.

Day 4: Berg – Spittal (45 km)

Your journey today takes place mainly along the Drava river, crossing the splendid Carinthian countryside, a living painting of forests, fields, ancient farms and small villages. The cozy wine taverns, known as 'Buschenschenken', will become your oasis, offering you the opportunity to savor the real flavors of the land. As you pedal beside farmhouses adorned with flowers, you will reach Spittal an der Drau. Here, a charming old town and Porcia palace, a jewel of Renaissance architecture, will take your breath away with their incomparable beauty and historical wealth.

Day 5: Spittal – Villach (40 km)

Today's stage leads you through the "Cultural Promenade of Upper Carinthia", leaving behind the Spittal area to immerse yourself in an ancient scenery of green meadows, lush forests, and idyllic wetlands. As you approach Villach, the landscape changes, revealing the charm of an ancient city with a distinctive Italian flair.
