Description

Day 1: Nuremberg
Individual arrival in Nuremberg. After settling in, stroll through this beautiful city known as the city of Dürer, renowned for its Christmas market, delicious gingerbread, and designation as the city of toys. Nuremberg is a city of two faces: on one hand, there's the historic city center surrounded by walls and its castle; on the other, it's a modern city. The center is full of breweries, and the atmosphere in the evening is charming.

Day 2: Nuremberg – Erlangen (30 km)
Today you will cycle along the Regnitz River from Nuremberg to Erlangen. In the 9th century, Erlangen was the main exporter of Bavarian beer. Thanks to the Erlangen Castle’s cooling rock cellars on the Burgberg mountain, beer could be kept fresh longer and therefore sold all year round. However, with the invention of the refrigerator, Erlangen's beer industry began to decline, but the enjoyment of beer in the gardens and taverns of Erlangen remained. At the end of the day treat yourself to a fresh beer and tasty Franconian delicacies.

Day 3: Erlangen – Bamberg (55 km)
Today you will cycle with the Steigerwald to your left and Franconian Switzerland to your right. You will cross the Regnitz valley while admiring the beautiful landscapes. Continuing along the Main-Danube canal you will arrive in Bamberg. The city was built on seven hills which gave it the name of Franconian Rome. Countless attractions to see such as: the imposing Cathedral, the Old Town Hall, the New Residence. Bamberg also has a long tradition of beer, and the Rauchbier (smoked beer) is particularly famous, which can be enjoyed in the numerous breweries.

Day 4: Bamberg – Neustadt (65 km) | Train trip (55 km)
You pedal towards Hirschaid and reach the romantic Aisch valley. Alternatively, you can shorten the stage with a train trip (not included) from Bamberg to Hirschaid. Take a break in Höchstadt to try the famous mirror carp. The crispy fried fish is a specialty of the region! Finally, you will arrive in Neustadt, where you can admire a cute wooden goat that circulates the town hall every noon, bleating and jumping, a grand spectacle.

Day 5: Neustadt – Rothenburg ob der Tauber (55 km)
You will leave Neustadt behind to head towards Bad Windsheim, where you can admire the beautiful architecture and enjoy traditional Bavarian cuisine, as well as the impressive Franconian Open Air Museum. Traveling along quiet roads you will arrive at Rothenburg ob der Tauber, where time seems to have stood still.

Day 6: Rothenburg ob der Tauber – Wolframs – Eschenbach (65 km)
Today you can opt for a detour and go to the source of the Altmühl river before taking a break in Colmberg. In Colmberg the mighty, well-preserved castle dominates the town. The Franconian Rezat then leads you into the heart of Ansbach with its stately rococo-style residence. Your final destination is at Wolframs-Eschenbach, which since 1917 bears the name of the poet Wolfram von Eschenbach.

Day 7: Wolframs – Eschenbach – Nuremberg (65 km)
Today you will follow the Burgenstraße cycle path, and passing the magnificent star-shaped fortress of Lichtenau, you will reach Roth. We recommend visiting Ratibor Castle before again following the Main-Danube Canal back to Nuremberg. At the end of your Bavarian beer tour, several breweries are competing for your favor. In combination with the enjoyment of an original Nuremberg grilled sausage, a pleasant evening invites you.

Day 8: Nuremberg
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure. Possibility to extend the stay.
