Description

Day 1: Alghero
Private transfer or individual arrival in Alghero and overnight stay.

Day 2: Alghero – Capo Caccia – Alghero (54 km)
We begin by visiting the ramparts and the charming old town of Alghero, a splendid Aragonese city, by bicycle. Leaving Alghero, discover the prehistoric palace of the Nuraghe Palmavera. Continue towards Capo Caccia, an imposing 168-meter rocky spur overlooking the sea, and reach Lake Baratz, the only natural lake in Sardinia, where you can visit the Experience Center for Environmental Education. Return to Alghero through a long expanse of vineyards and olive groves, which produce renowned oil and wines.

Day 3: Alghero – Bosa (50 km)
Pedal along a spectacular road overlooking the sea admiring the view of the Gulf of Alghero and Capo Caccia. The emotions continue: you will see the pink, red and gray boulders of Capo Marargiu appear, where the last specimens of Griffon fly. Sleep in Bosa, a medieval town dominated by the Malaspina castle and famous for its embroidery and gold filigree.

Day 4: Bosa (21 o 62 km)
The short stage offers you a pleasant walk through the vineyards along the Strada della Malvasia di Bosa, with tastings of DOC wines in the renowned cellars. The long stage is a circular route around the area where the griffons nest, climbing towards Montresta and passing through the Appiu nuraghe, up to the spectacular cliffs and inlets of Capo Marrargiu, where these rare examples of European vulture are often seen circling. The rest option is dedicated to the discovery of Bosa: the suggestive Malaspina Castle, the medieval village with its pastel-colored houses embellished with red trachyte work, the typical goldsmith shops and the enchanting beaches.

Day 5: Bosa – Santu Lussurgiu (54 km)
Today the vineyards and olive groves accompany you to Flussio and Tinnura, two villages famous for their traditional asphodel baskets and murals. Then cross the pastures of Sagama, spaces as far as the eye can see of the Mediterranean scrub, reaching the springs of San Leonardo: you are in fact in the richest area of water in all of Sardinia. In Santu Lussurgiu you will enjoy the hospitality of a suggestive widespread hotel, made up of historic houses restored with simple elegance.

Day 6: Santu Lussurgiu – Santa Cristina – Santu Lussurgiu (42 km)
Visit the rural museum of Santu Lussurgiu or cycle to the enchanting archaeological site of Santa Cristina to admire the fascinating sacred well dating back to the 18th century BC.

Day 7: Santu Lussurgiu – Cabras (57 km)
Today discover the splendid natural sceneries of Montiferru, a slow-food district famous for the precious red ox (Sardinian-Modican breed) and for the typical cheese (casizzolu a pasta filata). The panorama slopes towards the sea, taking you to the Sinis Marine Protected Area, inhabited by pink flamingos and herons. You will then take a dirt path, which allows you to skirt the amazing white quartz beaches. Then cross a charming fishing village, where one of the most important early Christian churches in Sardinia stands and reach Tharros, the fascinating archaeological site on the sea, rich in Phoenician and Roman remains. The tour ends in Cabras.

Day 8: Cabras
End of services after breakfast.
