Description

Day 1: Trieste
Individual arrival in Trieste. We suggest you relax in one of the city's historical cafes, where nothing has changed since literary greats like Svevo, Saba and Stendhal sat at their tables writing their works. A walk in Piazza Unità d'Italia, also called the living room of the city. If you have time, we also recommend spending a few hours discovering the Miramare Castle, overlooking the sea, a few kilometers from the capital.

Day 2: Trieste - Piran/Portoroz (45 km)
Your bike ride will start from the exact point where the old Parenzana railway also started, the Trieste station; the building, built in 1906, reflects the typical architecture of the Austro-Hungarian period. Leaving Trieste behind, you will cross the border continuing to cycle among woods and countryside immersed in the natural beauties of the Istrian region. At the end of the stage, a long descent awaits you with a magnificent view of the thermal city of Piran.

Day 3: Piran/Portoroz - Levade/Montona (55 km)
Leaving Piran, a city that still shines today thanks to its architecture with multiple Venetian influences, you will retake the Parenzana railway; inland, you will pass the geometric salt pans of Secovlje, where even today the precious sea salt is extracted using ancient methods: a truly unique mottled carpet to observe. The bike path will then take you to pedal inland, through unspoiled nature up to Levade or Montona. Levade is famous for being a commercial center of products such as wine, olive oil and other food supplies.

Day 4: Levade/Montona - Porec (35 km)
In this last stage you will follow the central stretch of the Parenzana. Through the many tunnels and viaducts that were built at the end of the 19th century, the itinerary will lead you from the inland to the Adriatic Sea. On dirt roads you will cross cultivated fields, vineyards and the typical red soil. Approaching the final destination of the tour, you will no longer find traces of the Parenzana railway: neither a station nor a sign signal this wonderful railway stretch. The coast will open up in front of you and Porec will welcome you with its millenary history.

Day 5: Porec
After breakfast, end of services. Individual departure or possibility to extend the stay.
