Description

Day 1: Sesimbra
Private transfer from Lisbon airport to Sesimbra (45 min.). Sesimbra is a picturesque fishing village located in the heart of the Arrábida Natural Park.
At 6.00 pm welcome toast and initial briefing about the tour.

Day 2: Sesimbra – Setúbal (40 km; +/-780 m)
The morning begins with a visit to the picturesque Sesimbra fish market, followed by the climb to the castle, which dominates the harbor, dating back to the 12th century. The lush nature of the Arrabida Natural Park will then accompany us throughout the morning. The itinerary then continues between the sea and the mountains, up to Setúbal, the final destination of the day, a lively town with a very active port.

Day 3: Setúbal – Carvalhal (35 km; +/-440 m)
The morning opens with a visit to the surprising historical center of Setúbal, followed by the ferry crossing of the Sado River, where a group of dolphins lives. We will then continue through the Troia Peninsula, surrounded by the sand dunes of what was once an island. In the afternoon, while crossing the rice fields, wild herons and storks will keep us company.
Overnight stay inside the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve.

Day 4: Santo André – Santiago do Cacém (36 km; +/-450 m)
After a brief warm-up, we’ll explore some typical ecosystems of the freshwater lagoon, wildlife paradise of the Santo André Nature Reserve and Sancha lagoons. The final destination of the day is Santiago, an interesting town with some beautiful ancient noble palaces and a castle from which there is a splendid view.

Day 5: Santiago do Cacém – Porto Covo (35 km; +/-440 m)
Naturally, we can't leave Santiago without first discovering its rich past, populated by knights and their respective damsels to save; it's worth climbing to the castle for the splendid view of past and present. We’ll say goodbye to the city visiting the last functioning windmill in the area before heading towards the coast, which we’ll reach after crossing a lush oak forest. The last few kilometers on the bike will take us to the enchanting fishermen’s village of Porto Covo, where our hotel is, just 5 minutes from the bays from which you can dive into the sea. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 6: Porto Covo – Vila Nova de Milfontes (24 km; +/-350 m)
The first stop of the day will be at a fortification that was once used to protect the natural port against pirate attacks. In the background, Pessegueiro island is ready to be photographed. We will then choose whether to spend the afternoon on the beach or strolling around the lanes and shops of Vila Nova de Mil Fontes. Overnight stay at the romantic farm-hotel with pool Zambujeiro, located on the riverbank.

Day 7: Vila Nova de Milfontes (60 km; +/-515 m)
On this final day on the bike, we don’t have to pack our bags; we just set the camera in landscape mode and set off on the white roads of the Alentejo, traveled almost only by locals. If you prefer it’s possible to follow a route on asphalt roads, but you need to think about it well because in this way you’ll miss the wonderful stretch on the colorful cliffs overlooking the Ocean where storks nest. On the way back to Vila Nova de Milfontes, we can take a break on the immense and famous beach of Almograve for a cool drink or the last deserved swim in the sea. We’ll spend the evening immersed in the genuine atmosphere of the farm with a swimming pool where we’ll stay.

Day 8: Vila Nova de Milfontes
After breakfast, end of services. Private transfer from Vila Nova de Milfontes to Lisbon airport (3 hours).
