Description

Day 1: Matera
Arrival and overnight stay in Matera. Dedicate some time to visit Matera, Unesco World Heritage Site and one of the most fascinating places in the world.

Day 2: Matera – Altamura (25 km/15 mi)
Briefing and bikes delivery. You will cycle from Matera to the town of Altamura through the Alta Murgia National Park. In Altamura you can visit the imposing cathedral and taste the delicious local products such as the famous bread and focaccia.

Day 3: Altamura – Gravina in Puglia (20 km/12 mi)
Today’s cycling stage, easy and short, will take to the beautiful city of Gravina in Puglia, perched on the edge of a ravine and hiding underground an incredible world made up of rock tunnels, churches, granaries and ovens.

Day 4: Gravina in Puglia – Matera (30 km/19 mi)
Cycling on the Murgia Plateau, across its vast expanses, you will go back to Basilicata and Matera. Do not miss the chance to further discover an heritage of inestimable beauty.
