Description

Day 1: Tirano
Individual arrival and hotel accommodation. Take advantage of your free time to stroll along the historic streets where even the corners hide some fascinating memories of the past. The Madonna of Tirano will accompany you along a tree-lined avenue that leads to the historic center, without however hiding some beautiful Art Nouveau style building. Tirano also will not disappoint food and wine lovers: the imposing terraces that surround it offer a breathtaking view, while the vineyards return all the taste of the territory in a glass of wine!

Day 2: Tirano – St. Moritz – Tirano (Red Train (Bernina Red Train)
Today starts a day full of amazement and strong emotions. Crossing the Alps will give you a unique experience: from Tirano to St. Moritz and return in the evening with the famous Bernina red train. You will enjoy a breathtaking view, which will take you from Thusis to Tirano, a UNESCO heritage site, to the high altitudes of the Ospizio Bernina. This railway is a World Heritage site, a true masterpiece of civil engineering, a kind of stage from which to admire the fascinating spectacle of the surrounding nature. The railway line, harmoniously inserted in the mountain frame, crosses 55 tunnels, 196 viaducts and easily overcomes slopes up to 70 per thousand!

Day 3: Tirano – Colico (76 Km)
With a slight downhill, the first pedal starts, skirting the Adda river, which will lead you to cross the Valtellina. Having passed the small village of Teglio, you will reach one of the smallest provincial capitals in Italy: Sondrio. The day continues towards Morbegno, whose numerous historic buildings testify to a rich and fascinating past. Also worth visiting during the route are the Collegiata di San Giovanni Battista, a splendid baroque construction, and the Ganda Bridge, one of the city's symbols with its evocative architectural lines. Culture is not lacking, and neither is good food. So satisfy your palate with Bitto, a local specialty, typical cheese of Valtellina and an essential ingredient in the preparation of pizzoccheri. Overnight stay in Colico.

Day 4: Circular tour from Colico (13 or 34 Km)
Starting from Colico, a tourist center in the north of Lake Como, you can visit various places of interest in the area. You can choose different routes: you can cycle through the hills and visit Del Montecchio, or Forte Fuentes; reach the lakeside by bike to devote yourself to one of the possible nautical sports; go to Lake Mezzola; or even get to Chiavenna, the center of the homonymous valley with the possibility of returning by train (not included).

Day 5: Colico – Bellagio – Lecco (20 Km + ferry)
In the morning you will take the ferry that will make you cross the lake admiring the beautiful natural panorama and arriving in Bellagio. Discover this renowned location known as the pearl of Lake Como before taking, in the late afternoon, another ferry to reach beautiful Lecco, nestled between the lake and the picturesque mountains. You can take a walk along the shores of the lake or discover one of Manzoni's itineraries to visit those places that tradition has set as the theater of episodes of "The Betrothed". In the historic center, there are the remains of the fourteenth-century walls, the ancient Market and Theater squares, as well as the Basilica of St. Nicoló with its very tall bell tower overlooking the old port.

Day 6: Lecco – Trezzo sull'Adda (36 Km)
Today you will pedal on a partly dirt track and slightly downhill skirting the Adda river that returns to flow into its riverbed leaving the lake. This itinerary is inserted in a truly fairytale landscape context: monasteries, typical places, exciting and enchanting views will scroll in front of you, recalling the backdrop of the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. Between Vaprio and Trezzo you can visit the historic and suggestive workers' village of Crespi d'Adda dating back to the late nineteenth century and today a UNESCO heritage site.

Day 7: Trezzo sull'Adda – Milano (40 Km)
Today awaits the last bike stage on the famous Martesana cycle path, a navigable canal finally completed in 1496. You will be able to admire several noble villas, ancient mills, little churches, the old factories and the laundries. Little by little then the countryside will give way to the city: from the north you will enter Milan and continue on the city cycle paths to reach your hotel.

Day 8: Milan
Individual departure or possibility to extend the stay.
