Description

Day 1: Salzburg
Individual arrival in Salzburg. Delivery of travel documents and rented bicycles. Overnight in Salzburg.

Day 2: Salzburg – Mondsee Lake (35 km; +383/-302 m)
Starting from Salzburg, you will cycle along the Salzach river until you reach Izling, located in the northern outskirts of Salzburg. You will then take the Salzkammergut bike path towards Eugendorf, Thalgau and finally Mondsee. Overnight in Mondsee.

Day 3: Mondsee Lake – Bad Ischl (39 km; 435/-455 m)
Cycling along the lake shore towards Scharfling, after a short ascent to the pass, you will reach Wolfgangsee Lake, Strobl and finally Bad Ischl. Overnight in Bad Ischl.

Day 4: Bad Ischl – Hallstatt (47 km; +/-929 m)
The route follows the Traun river to Bad Goisern, then continues to Hallstatt along the eastern shore of Lake Hallstatt. At this point you have two options: reach Hallstatt by bike circumnavigating the lake (5 km), or cross the lake by ferry and land directly on Hallstatt's market square. From Hallstatt you return to Bad Ischl. Overnight in Bad Ischl.

Day 5: Bad Ischl – Train to Grein
Leave your bikes at the service center in Bad Ischl, adjacent to the station, and enjoy a scenic train ride (luggage included) through the magnificent Salzkammergut region to the town of Grein, located on the banks of the Danube. Transfer from the station to the hotel. Overnight in Grein.

Day 6: Grein – Emmersdorf (62 km; +252/-432 m)
Today's route will take you through the romantic Strudengau region in the narrow Danube Valley. You will pass from the Roman village of Ybbs and continue towards Melk, the gateway to the wonderful Wachau Valley where we recommend a visit to the Benedictine abbey, considered one of the most beautiful monasteries in Europe. Finally, you reach Emmersdorf, located on the opposite bank of the Danube. Overnight in Emmersdorf.

Day 7: Emmersdorf – Krems (35 km; +233/-257 m)
You will cycle through lush vineyards to Krems, free to choose which side of the Danube to ride; many cyclists prefer the left bank with the picturesque villages of Spitz, Weißenkirchen and Duernstein. Overnight in Krems.

Day 8: Krems – Tulln (46 km; +17/-36 m)
This last bike stage is largely downhill, so you can relax while enjoying the beautiful landscapes crossed. From Tulln you take the train to Vienna, where you will return the bicycles. Overnight in Vienna.

Day 9: Vienna
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure.
