Description

Day 1: Amsterdam – Vianen
After boarding at the Amsterdam pier scheduled for 1 pm, the boat will sail to Vianen, a small fortified town on the Lek river. In the late afternoon, bike handover and short test ride. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 2: Vianen – Schoonhoven – Kinderdijk (56 km) | Kinderdijk – Dordrecht
After breakfast, you will cycle along a pleasant bike path to Schoonhoven, also known as the City of Silver. Then continue to the Alblasserwaard polder and Kinderdijk Park, where an impressive row of 19 perfectly preserved large windmills, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997, will welcome you. From nearby Ablasserdam, you will take a water bus, a fast ferry that in just 10 minutes will take you to Dordrecht, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, a crossroads of river traffic. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 3: Dordrecht – Tholen boat trip | Tholen – Kreekrak locks (20 or 36 km) | Kreekrak – Antwerp
The day begins with a lovely sailing section to Tholen, from where the bike route begins, crossing the border between the Netherlands and Belgium. You will then cross the Wouwse Plantage forest area and continue towards Bergen, to the Kreekraksluis wind farm. You will find the boat anchored beyond the Kreekrak dam and from here you will sail to the city of Antwerp, which in the 16th century was the hub of trade between Europe and the East Indies; the extraordinary exchange of cultures over the centuries has uniquely shaped the city. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 4: Antwerp – Temse – Dendermonde (48 or 64 km)
After breakfast, you will ride your bike from the port towards the Scheldt river. Ascending its whimsical course (it is a tidal river) and following the beautiful bike path along its banks, you can enjoy magnificent views of one of the most beautiful natural stretches of the tour. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 5: Dendermonde – Ghent (52 km)
The bike itinerary continues along the Scheldt river towards Ghent, a dynamic university city with an important past, founded by the Romans at the confluence of the Leie and Scheldt rivers. In the afternoon you can visit the city or, why not, do some shopping. The excellent location has provided Ghent with great prosperity over the centuries, culminating between the late 13th and early 14th centuries. St. Bavo's Cathedral was built in different periods and styles; inside there are several works of art from the medieval period such as Jan van Eyck's Adoration of the Mystic Lamb. The boat will be anchored at a lock on the outskirts of Ghent. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 6: Ghent – Bruges (45 km)
The bike stage will guide you through the beautiful Flemish countryside towards Bruges, also known as the Venice of the North, due to the many canals interwoven in the historic center. Its ancient center, practically intact, dates back to the Middle Ages, a time when the city was a major art and commerce center. Beautiful buildings are a noticeable testimony of this glorious past. But Bruges is also the city of chocolate, don't forget to crumble and taste the many chocolates. Dinner not included and overnight stay on board.

Day 7: Bruges – North Sea – Bruges (38 or 51 km)
The final bike stage runs along a quiet canal along the river, lined with poplars and offering a pleasant view of small farms, leading you to the North Sea coast. Once here, you can choose one of the long sandy beaches for a swim, or relax in one of the many cafes while enjoying the beautiful view of the dunes. Return to Bruges along a picturesque canal. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 8: Bruges
Breakfast on board and disembarkation by 9:30 am. End of services and individual departure.
