Description

Day 1: Alghero
Individual arrival in Alghero and welcome meeting, delivery of bicycles (if rented) and a test ride in the historic center of Alghero. Alghero is a charming and lively city, with a cosmopolitan flair. The Catalan Walls still surround the historic center on the sea side with its watchtowers, where it will be pleasant to walk and have a drink at sunset before a fish dinner. Overnight in Alghero.

Day 2: Alghero – Capo Caccia – Alghero (53 km)
Starting from the beautiful center of Alghero, you will cross the splendid Vermentino wine area. In this area, known as Nurra, the wind blows directly from the northwest, preventing plants from growing over a few meters. We recommend visiting Capo Caccia, a line of limestone rocks scattered with caves and crevices that hide a mysterious world atop the turquoise sea. Punta Giglio and Capo Caccia area are a true paradise for lovers of submarine caves. Among these, the Grotta di Nettuno is particularly fascinating: located under the spur of Capo Caccia, it is reachable by sea or through the numerous steps of the Escala del Cabriol, with a level difference of about 110 meters, shows wonderful stalactites and stalagmites. Free dinner and overnight in Alghero to discover local specialties.

Day 3: Alghero – Bosa (45 or 60 km)
Today you will cycle along the coast on slightly hilly terrain. You will start from Alghero and begin to ride on beautiful plateaus, from where you can admire unforgettable views. You will thus reach the medieval village of Bosa, dominated by the imposing Malaspina Castle located between wild nature, pebbly coves and bastions overlooking the sea that make this surprising landscape unique. Once in town, don't forget to taste at least a glass of the golden Malvasia di Bosa. Overnight in Bosa.

Day 4: Bosa –  Santu Lussurgiu (48 or 51 km)
Today's bike itinerary will take you through small villages and to the famous springs of Siete Fuentes. Along the route you will spot numerous Nuraghe and suggestive landscapes, such as the plateau you will encounter just before arriving at Santu Lussurgiu, a medieval village nestled in a volcanic amphitheater, on the southeastern side of Montiferru. Dinner and overnight in Santu Lussurgiu.

Day 5: Santu Lussurgiu –  Oristano (59 or 67 km)
Today you will go to Fordongianus, the main Roman town in the Sardinian hinterland, rich in remains dating back to the period of the Punic Wars. Should you opt for the longer version of the route, you will be enchanted by crystal clear waters, wonderful sandy beaches and S’Archittu, a natural arch and monument engraved in white limestone by the action of the sea and wind. Overnight in Oristano.

Day 6: Oristano  – Sinis Peninsula – Oristano (57 or 74 km)
Today you'll head to the Sinis Peninsula, cycling along the sea through Cabras, Tharros and numerous ponds and lagoons where, depending on the season, you can spot pink flamingos. The visit to the Archeological Site of Tharros, located at the extreme edge of the Sinis Peninsula and from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view is highly recommend. Afterwards, still on the bike, you'll ride to the small harbour of Torre Grande, where you'll savor unforgettable spicy mussels in one of the many sea-view restaurants or bars. Finally, following the bike path you'll return to Oristano where you'll spend the night.

Day 7: Oristano
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure.
