Description

Day 1: Buje

Welcome to Istria! Your adventurous cycling journey starts today. You will arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon and at 7:00 PM, you will have an informative meeting with the Fiore representative at the hotel reception. Here, you will receive the package with hotel vouchers, bicycles complete with equipment, maps, and a road book. You will stay overnight in the Buje area.

Day 2: Buje - Motovun (37 km; +693/-585 m)

You will start the day with a wonderful ride from Buje to Grožnjan, a typical Istrian medieval town that stands high on the right bank of the Mirna River. Exploring this city of artists, you will be surrounded by art studios, galleries, and melodies ranging from classical to jazz. You will then continue to Oprtalj, a charming medieval village offering a unique view of the Istrian peninsula. Enjoy a scenic descent to Livade, the truffle center of Istria, where you can visit a local shop and taste truffles in various forms. Your final destination today will be Motovun, a famous and enchanting medieval hilltop village. Here, you will stay overnight at the hotel "Kaštel".

Day 3: Motovun - Poreč (39 km; +367/-614 m)

Today, you will cycle from the inland to the coast. The route will take you to Višnjan, renowned for its observatory, one of the most famous in the world. You will pass through the town of Višnjan situated at an altitude of 246 meters, from which you can admire a splendid view of the western coast of Istria and the coastal town of Poreč. In the surroundings of Višnjan, you can visit numerous wineries with wines from the area, particularly Malvasia. Continuing towards Tar and then to the village of Nova Vas, you will have the opportunity to visit the famous local cave before reaching Poreč, where you will stay overnight.

Day 4: Poreč - Kanfanar - Rovinj (34 km; +680/-399 m)

After breakfast, you will have the choice to depart for Kanfanar by car or by bike. This small town above the Lim Valley will be the starting point of the flattest route of the tour. You will cross picturesque Istrian villages and discover traditional tool houses (kažun). Once you arrive in Bale, you can visit the Bembo Palace, the town square, and the local museum. You will continue towards Rovinj, making a stop at the bird reserve of "Palud" where you can ride immersed in nature. You can also make a detour and discover Monkodonja, an ancient hilltop town from the Bronze Age. Finally, you will reach the splendid Rovinj, also known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic," famous for its historic center and the charming bell tower overlooking the sea. Conclude the day by savoring fresh fish and Malvasia in one of the many local restaurants.

Day 5: Rovinj

After breakfast, it will be time to say goodbye. You will take with you unforgettable memories of Istria and its wonders. Have a safe journey home and see you on the next adventure!
