Description

Day 1: Tirano
Individual arrival in Tirano. Take advantage of your free time to walk along the historic streets, where even the most hidden corners hide some fascinating memory of times gone by. The Madonna di Tirano will accompany you along a tree-lined avenue leading towards the historic center, among beautiful Liberty-style buildings. Tirano does not disappoint lovers of food and wine either: the imposing terraces that envelop it offer breathtaking views, while the vineyards return all the taste of the territory in a glass of wine. Overnight stay in Tirano.

Day 2: Tirano – Colico (76 km)
From here the route starts, slightly downhill, which will lead you, along the Adda river, to cross the Valtellina, passing from the charming village of Teglio (famous for pizzoccheri, a typical local pasta made with buckwheat flour), to the smallest of the Italian provincial capitals: Sondrio. The first stage concludes in Morbegno, whose numerous historic buildings testify to a rich and fascinating past. Walking through its streets, you can appreciate the beautiful facades of the ancient palaces, with wrought iron balconies and friezes that adorn the walls. Among the many churches, the Collegiate Church of San Giovanni Battista, a splendid building in exquisite baroque style dating back to the 17th-18th century, is certainly worth a visit. One of the symbols of the city is the Ganda Bridge, with its suggestive architectural lines. Finally, remember to delight your palate: the local specialty is Bitto, a typical cheese of the Valtellina and one of the main ingredients of pizzoccheri. Overnight stay in Colico.

Day 3: Colico (13 or 34 km)
After breakfast, you can choose from different itineraries in Colico: you can pedal through its hills in the old part, then visit the forts of Montecchio and Fuentes; or head towards the lakeside to dedicate yourself to various water sports and then relax on the banks of the lake itself. If you prefer to stay on your bike, you can pedal towards Lake Mezzola (13 km) and travel a short stretch; or the brave can continue to Chiavenna (another 21 km), the main center of the homonymous valley, and the return to Colico can be done by train. Overnight stay in Colico.

Day 4:Colico – Bellagio – Lecco by boat
In the morning you will take the boat that will ferry you to Bellagio, located on the other side of Lake Como. Here you can stop for a meal or a drink while strolling through the charming village. In the late afternoon, you will take the boat to reach Lecco, the city where the writer Alessandro Manzoni set the Betrothed. Lecco is the capital of the homonymous province, enclosed between famous and evocative mountains. In the historic center, you can visit the remains of the 14th-century walls of Azzone Visconti and the ancient Market and Theater squares, as well as the Basilica of S. Nicoló with its very high bell tower, overlooking the ancient port. Overnight stay in Lecco.

Day 5: Lecco – Trezzo sull’Adda (36 km)
Today you will bike on a partly unpaved and slightly downhill path, skirting the Adda river again that returns to flow in its bed leaving the lake. The journey crosses a truly fairy-tale landscape, among the historic hydroelectric power stations, monasteries, typical places, the famous locks and the extraordinary Leonardo-like scenarios, including the Mona Lisa and Leonardo's ferry, you can't help but be enchanted by these exciting views. Between Vaprio and Trezzo you can visit Crespi d’Adda, a historic and suggestive worker's village dating back to the late 19th century, UNESCO heritage. Overnight stay in Trezzo.

Day 6: Trezzo sull’Adda – Milan (40 km)
The final stage of this bike tour will take you on the famous Martesana cycle path, a canal definitively completed in 1496 under the guidance of Ludovico il Moro. Among the points of interest, you can admire various noble villas, such as Villa Melzi in Vaprio or Villa Aitelli in Inzago, many mills, little churches, ancient factories, and laundries. Then the countryside will gradually give way to the city and you will enter Milan from the Northeast. Overnight stay in Milan.

Day 7: Milan
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure.
