Day 1: Tropea
Individual arrival at Lamezia Terme, transfer to Tropea, and accommodation in a villa with swimming pool. The evening begins with a briefing, where you'll meet the guide and the other participants, and then ends with dinner at the villa, immersed in the tranquility of the Calabrian night.
Day 2: Tropea - Capo Vaticano (25 km)
After a hearty breakfast, we'll start our first day of cycling at 9:00, when we'll saddle up to explore Tropea. We will cycle along the coast, savouring the salty air that will accompany us to Capo Vaticano. The route unfolds amid breathtaking landscapes, offering us magnificent views of the Cape, the Calabrian coast and the Strait of Messina. On clear days, we might even glimpse a shy greeting from Etna, gifting us an unforgettable memory. Before lunch, we will take a dip in the crystal clear waters of Santa Maria beach, a moment of pure relaxation and connection with nature. We will decide whether to have lunch in one of the restaurants in Santa Maria di Ricadi, where we will have the opportunity to taste local dishes. In the afternoon we will return to the villa and, at 18:00, a guided tour of the historic centre of Tropea is planned, followed by a wine tasting at sunset at Furchì winery, an authentic rural hospitality experience that will make us feel really at home. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Tropea (28 km)
At 9:00 we will depart, venturing on the ancient roads that overlook Tropea, we will undertake a route that will challenge us with climbs and descents, made pleasant by modern e-bikes. We will cross dirt and asphalt roads, witnesses of centuries-old stories, which will give us unparalleled views of Tropea and the rolling Calabrian countryside, a landscape enriched by cliffs and breathtaking panoramas. The day will conclude at 18:30 with a wine tasting at sunset, a magical time when time seems to stand still. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Tropea - Zungri - Tropea (32 km)
The alarm will ring early today, as at 9:00 we will get back in the saddle to face this fourth day. The itinerary will guide us uphill to the farming village of Zungri, famous for being the town of the Madonna della Neve and the “Woman in black in perpetual mourning”, endlessly sung by Rino Gaetano in the song “For example, I like the south”. Once in Zungri, we will be welcomed by Mrs Franca Crudo of the Asfalantea association, who will illustrate the ancient art of baking and the importance of bread in local culture and tradition, from both a culinary and cultural and religious perspective. Afterwards, we will have the opportunity to visit the prehistoric caves of Zungri and the peasant museum, immersing ourselves in the history and traditions of the place. The return to Tropea will see us cycling along the secondary roads of Zungri, Zaccanopoli and Fitili and, for those who wish, the day can end with a rejuvenating swim in the crystal clear waters of Michelino beach. Free dinner.
Day 5: Tropea + boat excursion
Today will be a day for relaxation: we will have the morning free to explore Tropea, losing ourselves among its characteristic alleys and maybe buying some souvenirs. In the afternoon, from 13:00 to 18:00, we have a splendid boat trip waiting for us that will offer a new perspective on the Costa degli Dei, revealing the majesty of Tropea from the sea and leading us to discover hidden coves and beaches, authentic jewels of biodiversity and beauty. We will depart from the "La Grazia" beach in Parghelia, admiring Tropea from the sea, where the village shows all its splendor. We will then proceed to the Blue Grotto and the Knight's Beach, not forgetting Formicoli beach, ideal for snorkeling, and Capo Vaticano, exploring both Grotticelle beach and Santa Maria beach. The day will end with a typical dinner at the "La Casareccia" restaurant in Brattirò, crowning a day of exploration.
Day 6: Tropea - Soverato - Pizzo - Tropea (55 km)
After a hearty breakfast, at 8:00 a shuttle will take us to Soverato, from where we will start an exciting tour to Pizzo. This journey, called "coast to coast", gives us the uniqueness of admiring two seas in one day: the Ionian and the Tyrrhenian. Following a tradition, we will wet our feet in both seas, a gesture of good omen that will accompany our adventure. The route will take us from the sea to the mountains, crossing charming villages and enchanted woods, to then plunge back into the sea waters. In Monterosso, a lunch awaits us, offering us a moment of rest and conviviality before reaching Pizzo. Here, the famous local delight awaits us: truffle ice cream, a temptation of hazelnut, chocolate and heart of melted chocolate. The return to Tropea will give us time to reflect on the natural and cultural wonders discovered, concluding the day with a free dinner, a moment of relaxation and reflection.
Day 7: Tropea (30 km) | or excursion to Scilla
Today we will have the opportunity to choose between a short and relaxing ride, which will leave us time to enjoy the beaches of Capo Vaticano or Tropea, or to venture towards Scilla with a shuttle. Here we will explore the picturesque village of Chianalea and delight ourselves with a lunch based on octopus sandwich. Our last day will end with a group dinner in a pizzeria, an opportunity to share the experiences lived and strengthen our bond with this enchanting corner of Calabria.
Day 8: Tropea
After breakfast, transfer to the airport or to the train station and end of services.
