Description

Sure, here’s the translated bicycle trip program in English formatted as HTML text: ```html
Day 1: Lake Bled
Individual arrival at Lake Bled, in Slovenia. To start, you can dip your feet in the beautiful glacial lake; this shimmering body of water is famous for the picturesque church on the island and the cliffside castle, all framed by the stunning Caravanche mountains. Bled is one of Slovenia’s most famous tourist attractions. You can also take a walk on the western side of the lake to enjoy some of the best panoramas in the country or taste the famous local cream cake (Kremšnita) by the lake while admiring the sunset over the mountains.

Day 2: Bled – Bohinjska Bistrica (27 or 43 km; +130/-830 m)
Today, you will bid farewell to Lake Bled to reach another of Slovenia’s most beautiful lakes. A short car transfer will take you to the Pokljuka plateau, from where you will cross some alpine villages until you reach Lake Bohinj, the gem of the Triglav National Park. Surrounded by high peaks, Bohinj is the largest and deepest lake in the park. The Savica Waterfall is the source of the lake and the Sava Bohinjka river. A cable car goes up to Mount Vogel, from which there is a spectacular view of the Bohinj valley and Mount Triglav, the highest peak of the Julian Alps.

Day 3: Bohinj – Tolmino (30 or 55 km; +1020/-1340 m)
In the morning, you will have two options: either cross the Sorica Pass in the Julian Alps or take a short train ride through the Bohinj tunnel to Podbrdo. You will then continue through a narrow valley following the beautiful emerald-green Soča River, reaching the western side of the Julian Alps. Shortly before reaching Tolmino, you will have the opportunity to visit the world’s only monument dedicated to military cooks.

Day 4: Tolmino – San Martino – Solkan (46 km; +470/-1410 m)
After breakfast, a transfer will take you to the Kolovrat saddle, from where you can admire stunning views of the Soča Valley. Once the site of heavy fighting during World War I, it has now become a very interesting open-air museum. Reaching the first village, Mrs. Josephine, who lives alone in a well-preserved old-style pub, will be happy to welcome you to her shaded garden. You will reach today’s destination, San Martino Collio, amid a sea of lush vineyards. San Martino Collio is a recently and beautifully restored medieval village, with narrow streets and Mediterranean-style houses: here you can sip fresh white wine and chat with the locals in an authentic village pub. The stage will end by passing through a bicycle corridor, crossing into Italy, and passing over the world’s largest stone arch bridge.

Day 5: Solkan – Grado (65 km; +210/-300 m)
Leaving the Brda wine region, you will reach the Southern Berlin. The city of Gorizia was once the division point between Italy and Yugoslavia. Further along the border, you can visit the world’s smallest military museum, a historic Yugoslav border outpost, and the ancient Monastery of Kostanjevica, the burial place of the last French king. Continuing south and entering Italy, you will soon reach the Adriatic Sea. You will spend the afternoon in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, passing through rivers, canals, and ancient Roman towns. Your destination will be Aquileia, with its Roman excavations, or Grado, a lively historical town located on an island in the lagoon of the same name.

Day 6: Grado – Portogruaro (59 or 87 km; +/-110 m)
This morning you will cycle a bit inland, leaving the sea behind. You will pass through a multitude of “fishing valleys,” stretches of lagoon enclosed by earthen embankments where extensive fish farming is practiced and “casoni,” buildings used by fishermen in the past during the fishing season. Your destination is the city of Portogruaro, one of the main centers during the Serenissima Republic of Venice, which is still impressive today, with its glorious Palaces.

Day 7: Portogruaro – Lido di Jesolo (67 km; +/-90 m)
From Portogruaro, a wonderful simple route awaits you westward, along the beautiful beaches of the Adriatic Coast. There are numerous opportunities to relax and swim, so make sure to pack your swimsuit! Overnight in one of the two towns along this famous coast, depending on availability. Jesolo is very close to Venice, so from here, you can easily reach the airport or the old town on the lagoon.

Day 8: Lido di Jesolo
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure.
