Family biking among the Islands of Denmark: Fyn and Ærø

Day 1: Odense
Welcome to Odense! After your independent arrival, get ready for a relaxing and exciting tour. If you have booked a rental bike, you will find it at the hotel. Odense offers numerous attractions for children and adults, so take the time to explore. Overnight stay in Odense.

Day 2: Odense – Brobyværk (25 km)
The day starts with a walk in the capital of the island of Fyn, known as the birthplace of writer Hans Christian Andersen. From the urban environment, you will move to rural backroads, beginning to savor the idyllic landscapes of the "garden of Denmark." The day concludes in Brobyværk, a charming village crossed by the Odense River.

Day 3: Brobyværk – Faaborg (20 km)
Today you will ride south towards the "Alps of Fyn". The route offers delightful views of the water and pleasant challenges among the gentle hills. You will pass through small villages and ancient churches, finally arriving in Faaborg, an old port town with picturesque streets and historic houses. Here, you can admire the southern archipelago of Fyn.

Day 4: Faaborg – Ærø – Svendborg (25 km)
Today you will explore the archipelago with a ferry from Faaborg to the island of Ærø. The journey takes an hour, during which you can enjoy the beautiful scenery. Upon arrival in Søby, you will follow secondary roads to the charming town of Ærøskøbing, with its ancient houses and cobbled streets. From Ærøskøbing, you will take another ferry to Fyn, arriving in Svendborg, where you will stay for two nights. Alternatively, you can ride directly from Faaborg to Svendborg.

Day 5: Svendborg
Svendborg is the maritime center of Fyn. Near the Ærø ferry dock, you will find "Træskibsbroen," where you can see a collection of old wooden ships. The city offers shopping, attractions, and restaurants. For children, Naturama is a must-visit. You can also take a trip to the surroundings and visit Egeskov Castle, which hosts a collection of old cars and airplanes.

Day 6: Svendborg – Odense (69 km)
From Svendborg, we suggest taking the local train (not included) to return to Odense. The journey lasts 40-45 minutes and crosses the beautiful landscapes of southern Fyn. You can also choose to take the bus or ride for about 69 km. Upon returning to Odense, you can enjoy the city and stroll through its cozy center.

Day 7: Odense
A whole day for shopping, visiting attractions, sitting in cafes, or maybe taking a bus to Kerteminde and visiting the Fjord & Bælt Center. You can also enjoy an ice cream at the harbor before returning to Odense, admiring the beautiful scenery, the half-timbered houses, and the gardens along the way.

Day 8: Odense
Time to go home or extend your vacation with one or two extra days in Odense or maybe in Copenhagen.
